Here, the blue buildings stretch like an ocean, breathtakingly beautiful, as if the stories from 'One Thousand and One Nights'🌙 are being enacted in reality. If you plan to come here, I strongly recommend these four attractions🌇, whose beauty is enough to intoxicate any 'special forces' in just one day. However, due to the large number of tourists, to fully appreciate and photograph, we chose to visit over two days, and there was still plenty of time. ✨Shah-i-Zinda necropolis: This is a must-visit in Samarkand, 🐴 especially the stunning Avenue of Mausoleums. Although it only takes 20 minutes to stroll around, finding the perfect photo spot might require some waiting. If you can get up early, this will be your first stop, with photography📸 and sightseeing, 1 hour is enough. ✨Registan Square: As the oldest square in Samarkand⏳, it is filled with a sense of historical weight. The great Uzbek warrior statesman Amir Timur ruled via the puppet khans in the khanate kingdoms in which he managed to consolidate his power. This was because Amir Timur himself was not a descendant of the Genghis Khan. Without this lineage he could not become the Khan. He became qurkan to the Khan’s family, meaning the “son-in-law,” by his marriage with his chief consort Saray Mulk Khanum. Saray Mulk Khanum, now known commonly as Bibi Khanym, meaning “the elder wife,” was the wife of Amir Timur’s predecessor, Amir Husayn of Balkh. After Amir Timur defeated and killed Amir Husayn, he married Saray Mulk Khanum, a daughter of Qazan Khan. She was a descendant of Genghis Khan. And this is the beginning of Bibi Khanym’s legacy in Samarkand. The group of monuments that bear her name originally consisted of three complexes. There was the madrasa, the Bibi Kanym Mosque, and Bibi Khanym’s Mausoleum. The Bibi Khanym madrasa was built to a very grand scale, but the structure was destroyed by Nadir Shah’s Persian troops when they invaded in 1740. By commissioning the madrasa, Bibi Khanym had intended to be the patron of education for Samarkand and the kingdom. Bibi Khanym is the chief consort of Amir Timur. The fact that she had access to the resources required to construct these three significant monuments (the mosque was built during his absence in Samarkand when he raged his military campaigns) that were named after her already suggests her influence in Amir Timur’s royal court. She oversaw not only his harem but also the affairs of the state. There is an interesting story about Bibi Khanym’s effort to build the mosque. She had intended the mosque to be a surprise for Amir Timur upon his return. The mosque’s architect fell deeply in love with her, and when she urged him to hurry to complete the work he demanded he be allowed to give her a kiss. The kiss left a permanent stain on her cheek; Timur saw it on his return and had the architect executed for his insolence. Among the many grand structures in Samarkand, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque 🕌 stands out as a particularly impressive sight. Although there is an entrance fee, once you pass through the enormous archway, you will be greeted by a vast courtyard measuring 167m by 109m 🤯 The blue dome reaches a height of approximately 40m, and its sheer scale is overwhelming, leaving you staring upwards with your mouth agape 😧 haha. There are many beautiful mosques and Islamic architecture in Uzbekistan 🕌 Among them, my favorite is the Bibi-Khanum Mosque for the beauty of its domes. It was destroyed by Genghis Khan's cavalry in 1220. Later, Timur the Great established his capital here, captured the best architects and craftsmen from the conquered countries, and built a series of mosques, madrasas and mausoleums. Most of the magnificent buildings we see today have been restored during the Soviet era. In addition to the skills of Timurid craftsmen, they also reflect the bold imagination of modern craftsmen. The center of the city is the Registan Square, which is formed by three madrasas. Starting from here, we walked past the Bibi Hanim Mosque, Hazrat Khir Mosque, and finally arrived at Shah-i-Zinda, the attraction I was most looking forward to. Shah-i-Zinda means "the immortal husband". The mausoleum complex of women and nobles of Timur's family is decorated with blue tiles and patterns on the mausoleum avenue. It changes into a variety of colors such as royal blue and azure blue at different times, which is solemn yet romantic.

The Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is the most magnificent mosque architecture of the 15th century in Central Asia, boasting a majestic exterior and elegant patterns, having undergone multiple restorations. The mosque has a quadrangular courtyard, with the main hall's dome reaching 30 meters high and the outer dome 40 meters high, with a 10-meter hollow space in between. On both sides, there were once classrooms over 7 meters high. Entering inside is a quadrangular courtyard, in front is the main hall, and in the courtyard are marble Qur'an stands, marble Qur'an stands, which are original artifacts from the Timurid era. Opposite the mosque is the mausoleum of Timur's wife, Bibi-Khanym, and at night, when the mosque is lit up, the scenery is enchanting.
