This time, we visited Chye Seng Huat Hardware Cafe on Tyrwhitt Road, an establishment that has been a staple since 2012. It's impressive that it has remained popular despite the growing competition in the area. Arriving before noon, we found the cafe bustling with activity, and we were only able to secure an outdoor table. The aroma from the nearby coffee roasting building was irresistible, filling the air with a delightful, rich scent. The cafe's enduring popularity is evident; its appeal remains strong even a decade later. The menu offers a diverse selection of brunch and lunch options, accompanied by an impressive array of coffee beans. We sampled the eggs benedict, vegetarian pumpkin and mushroom sourdough, and wraps. Eager to try something new, I opted for flavours I hadn't experienced before. I chose watermelon mint and blue pea chrysanthemum chocolate chip. While the watermelon mint was refreshing, its sharpness might not be for everyone, given the bold combination of flavours. Start Cafehopping in Singapore with the first shop, Chye Seng Huat Hardware, a famous cafe. I must say that this shop is a coffee specialty shop because the owner is a famous coffee roaster in Singapore. Therefore, coffee lovers want to stop by and try the coffee of this shop at least once. The shop is in a three-story building. The design of the building is an old building that has a very Singaporean identity. Inside the shop, there are both indoor and outdoor seating areas. There is a large coffee bar in the middle of the shop and a slow bar at the very end. There are many coffee menus to choose from. I personally tried the Cold brew (8 SGD) and Butter croissant (4 SGD). Their coffee tastes fruity but not too sour. If you like a nutty or strong tone, you may have to ask the barista for the coffee beans. The shop is not far from the popular hotel among Thais, V Hotel Lavender. You can get there by getting off at two MRT lines: MRT Lavender (green line) and MRT Bendemeer (blue line, which is closer). The shop opens every day from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. For those who love taking pictures, I recommend coming in the afternoon because the light will come directly into the shop. This cafe, transformed from a hardware store, was already full of charm, and with the endorsement of world-class chef Andre Chiang, its popularity has naturally soared. For years, it has been a sensational coffee shop in Singapore. The cafe didn't even bother to change its name, simply calling it Chye Seng Huat Hardware. In fact, you'll find that the coffee shop continues the retro atmosphere throughout. It reminds me of the Nam Kok Cafe in Kowloon City, which has a similar vibe, but Chye Seng Huat takes it to the next level, as it also houses a bakery, a coffee school, and even a boutique. Today, I came for breakfast, like a Mexican wrap filled with thick tamagoyaki and bacon, which was super filling. I loved the soft wrap, the very tender eggs, and the crispy bacon bits that added a rich texture. It would be impossible for me to finish it alone, but half a portion with some other small items was just right. I also ordered a New York croissant, without any fancy toppings or molten effects, just back to basics, which I actually prefer. The pastry was really fragrant, crispy but not hard, and the bread inside was so delicious that I fell in love with it. The coffee here is, of course, top-notch. A simple cup of Flat White with a nutty flavor was exactly what I wanted. Hand-brewed coffee, without a doubt, brings out the original flavor of the coffee beans. I must say, the conservation efforts in Singapore are excellent. It's definitely not an excuse for speculators to make a huge profit under the guise of revitalization. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the coffee here. My favourite coffee are the Nitro Anti Matter and White Cold Brew. The Kouign Amann, Papa's Breakfast, and Scrambled Eggs on Croissant are also fantastic! It appears they update their main dishes periodically, which keeps things interesting. Be prepared for a queue on weekends, as it can get quite crowded. Definitely one of the good options to makan in Singapore. #letsmakan #singapore

The Annex is a shop that we found by chance. It is located next to a cafe called Chye Seng Huat Hardware. Inside the shop, there are many types of coffee beans, both beans, drip, capsules, as well as various types of coffee making equipment, such as coffee grinders, coffee makers, and drinking glasses. You can walk out of this shop and open a small cafe at home. However, their beans are sold in rather large bags, 500 grams or 1 kilogram. If you have heavy bags, it is worth buying. #familytrips2024 It's always a bustling cafe scene at Chye Seng Huat Cafe. Located within an old hardware shop house, one would not expect a cafe to pop out from within. However, enter this run down shop house, and you will be surprised to find yourself in this busy cafe, filled with Sunday brunch goers, coffee drinkers and passionate baristas serving you the best that the cafe has to offer. Fresh pastries are lined in a glass showcase, looking so tempting. The whole place smells of good aromatic coffee. I frequent this place and my usual would be their dirty latte, along with their yummy kouign amann. If you love a boisterous cafe and a good cup of coffee, Chye Seng Huat is the cafe for you. #bucketlistreboot Situated in Jalan Besar District Chye Seng Huat Hardware ( CSHH ) was home to several metal and hardware of the past. Today CCSH is the home and flagship store PPP coffee within this conserved art deco shophouse. The nearest MRT is Downtown line Bendmeer Station ( DT23 ) with around 500 metres 8 minutes walk. Scan the QR code from the table to start ordering, i had order a cold brew cost me SGD 8.50, that taste nice. They also got serve cakes and pastries that display at the counter. Usual cafe foods and snacks and some interesting fusion dishes. They have their own roaster to prepare their coffee, the atmosphere here are wonderful.
