A Guide to Local Food and Agriculture - Da Nong Dafu Plain Forest Park
#Taiwan Local Tour
It is a large flat forest park with guided tours. We happened to take part in the local food and farming introduction. Otherwise, it would be hard to tell whether the plants introduced by the matchmaker are edible plants or weeds!
The tour guide also taught us how to use fresh grass jelly to make headbands, which we can take home and dry to make grass jelly tea. There are also many edible plants in the park, such as allium, mint, pineapple sage, gotu kola, chicken grass, coin grass, mugwort, aromatic marigold, pandan leaves, lemongrass, white sugar cane... and so on. You can also touch and smell them yourself, and you can even take them home and be taught how to plant them through cuttings. It's really a great experience. The season happened to be right, so it was a rare opportunity to participate in the seasonal firefly viewing event. Originally, this event was designed for children aged 7-10 to experience together, but I didn't expect that adults would like it very much too. It was really a great activity experience.
