[2025 Hangzhou ] Travel Guide for Datongzhou (Updated Mar)

Finding tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle, I often journey between vibrant cities and peaceful countryside, drawing nourishment from nature and discovering my own way of secluded living. I enjoy strolling along rivers, seeking out the most beautiful villages and embracing a life of leisure. Zhejiang Province boasts numerous picturesque rivers, such as the Fuchun River, Nanxi River, Xin'an River, Huyuan Stream, Fenshui River, and Luzhu River. Walking along these rivers is like admiring a series of flowing landscape paintings – a truly healing, nourishing, and joyful experience. I've written dozens of notes about the Fuchun River, compiled in my "Leisurely Life on the Fuchun River" collection. The Fuchun River embodies the poetry and distant lands that reside within my heart. "I often recall those solitary boat trips in February and March, when the spring mountains seemed to favor the Fuchun River most." Following my heart's desire, I embarked on a rainy riverside hike, where the beauty of the Fuchun River gently nourished my body and soul like the silent spring rain. Videos and photos simply cannot capture the dynamic beauty of the Fuchun River. When you walk along its banks, you'll undoubtedly be captivated by the picturesque scenery and feel a sense of profound happiness. The Fuchun River in the misty rain resembles a flowing "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" painting. As you walk along the riverbank, the expansive river surface, vast fields, and lush greenery create a poetic and picturesque scene that will stir your heart. For the Fuchun River Fuyang section route, please refer to Figure 5. Admission: Free Transportation: Driving is more convenient, as you can drive along the riverside greenway. Public Transportation: From Hangzhou, take the subway to Guihua West Road Station, Exit C. Walk forward for about 100 meters to a temporary bus stop. Take the bus from Fuyang to Shen'ao and get off at Shangsha Village, Hongxing (Hejia) Station, or Dongziguan Station. From any of these stops, you can walk to the riverside. From Dongziguan Village, you can take a ferry to Tongzhou Island. Follow the riverside greenway to reach the Huangjinfan Greenway. From Tongzhou Island and the villages along the greenway, you can take bus 2115 to Fuyang Guihua West Road Subway Station. During the rapeseed blossom season, you can take bus 2115 to Huangjinfan Greenway to enjoy the flowers before heading to the island or the opposite side. The Wangzhou Greenway on the south bank of the Fuchun River faces the Huangjinfan Greenway on the north bank. You can take a ferry from the Wangjiabu Ferry Terminal in Dongziguan Village to Tongzhou Island. After exploring the island, cross the bridge to reach the Huangjinfan Greenway. The ferry costs 10 yuan for both passengers and vehicles, or 2 yuan per person. Alternatively, you can take a detour and cross the bridge to reach the island. Wangzhou Greenway (south side of Fuchun River): Start from the Qingjiangkou Internet-famous Suspension Bridge, passing through Hongfeng Village, Xinyuan Village, Yangsha Village, Lianqun Station, and Guajiang Park to reach Dongziguan Village. You can navigate to any of these villages to reach the riverside. Huangjinfan Greenway (north side of Fuchun River): Approximately 5.5 km long, passing through Xindian Village, Baojiaqi Village, Xiaotongzhou Village, and Chunzhu Village. Starting in mid-to-late March last year, thousands of acres of rapeseed flowers bloomed along the riverbank. I will share real-time updates on the blooming time of rapeseed flowers this year.

Tongzhou Island is the first sand island where the Fuchun River flows into the Fuyang territory. It is one of the oldest river islets on the Fuchun River. The island retains its original ecological pastoral scenery and is also one of the locations for the 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains' painting. The area around Tongzhou has a wide river and calm waters, with the sky and mountains sharing colors, and the deep forests and lush trees, which exactly resemble the scenes in 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains'. Tongzhou, with its layers upon layers like a painting, and its winding paths like screens, does not face the sea, but one can still enjoy the warmth of spring and the blooming flowers. Strolling along the most beautiful hiking plank road, encountering a fairy tale Standing on the wooden plank road of Tongzhou Island, it feels like stepping into a real-life 'Emerald City'. The woods are lush, the light and shadows are mottled, and occasionally very small figures appear among them, adding a touch of mystery and fantasy. The spring of Tongzhou is not only in the rapeseed flowers but also in the poplar forests and Yujiadu. If you have good cycling skills and a strong interest, you can also take a different path and travel through the poplar forest on the west side of the island, which is full of various wild grasses. The forest and water depend on each other, and the environment is tranquil. The purple and red wildflowers in the forest are blooming vigorously, the negative oxygen ion content is high, and herds of water buffalo and egrets harmoniously inhabit this place, resembling a natural pasture. The green trees by the river hide the scenery, 'fish flipping through algae, egrets dotting the smoky banks', and a few wooden boats float on a sea of green. The 'Egret Shadows on the River Islet' from the new 'Ten Scenes of Fuchun' refers to this place. When the flowers of Tongzhou bloom,

The ancients did not deceive me; in Fuyang's Xintong Township, the 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains' directly reflects into reality. Green mountains, clear waters, farmlands, sandbanks, flying birds... Now is the time when the orioles are flying and the willows are brushing the embankments along the Fuchun River. The boardwalk is winding and deep, with towering dense trees. On sunny days, it's a green light forest, and on rainy days, it's a misty forest. | This is definitely the ceiling of Hangzhou’s camping industry. Tongzhou Island, also known as "Datongzhou", is located in Xintong Township, Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province. Legend has it that it got its name from the medicine sage of the Yellow Emperor, Tong Jun, who planted herbs on the island. It is one of the oldest rivers on the Fuchun River and the first sand island encountered when the Fuchun River enters Fuyang. Datongzhou is surrounded by clear water, reflected by green mountains, shaded by green trees at the head of the island, and rolling willows along the coast. The island retains its original pastoral scenery, making it a rare place for people to return to nature. Navigation: Tongzhou Island, Fuyang District, Zhejiang Tickets: Free admission Transportation: About 1.5 hours by car from Hangzhou Activities: camping, kayaking, off-road motorcycles, barbecue, fishing, paragliding, hot air ballooning, etc. Play guide 1 Camping: You can drive directly to the camping site.
