The nearest Tube is Monument. This pub sits at the base of the Sackville House building, built in 1921. Nancy Spain’s has taken over the space that was once occupied by The Wine Lodge pub which closed a few years ago. This pub opened in November on the back of the success of the original Nancy Spain’s in Shoreditch, which by the way is well worth a visit. This pub is set out over two floors with the main bar located on the ground floor and a large basement space downstairs. The main bar has a narrow entrance that leads to an almost standing room only bar. There is a good sized servery on the right and a sort of faux servery on the left. There is a stage at the back left, a few drinking ledges to perch at and dozen or so bar stools. There are some interesting features around the pub like the shelving unit with antique tins, an unusual selection of vices and an array of bric-a-brac. Another nice feature is the old cash register on the bar-back. The basement was closed, so I’ll check it out on my next visit.

However, if you make a reservation at the restaurant, you can enter Sky Garden for free and get priority entry without waiting in line. Still, it's worth trying at least once.
