🕰️ Royal Origins
Construction began under King Narapatisithu and was completed by his son, King Htilominlo, in the late 12th century.
The temple was named "Gawdawpalin," meaning "Throne of Worship", believed to be built to honor the Buddha and the memory of the king’s ancestors.
