Japan | Yamagata | Shirayuki Ginzan Hot Spring Yonezawa Day Trip | A place you can’t miss in your life
#Japan Attractions
When you think of Yamagata Prefecture, you must think of Ginzan Onsen and Yamagata beef + Yonezawa beef in Chihiro. I have read many travel website introductions and have always wanted to go. After waiting for 3 years, the opportunity came and I finally went there earlier this year.
Transportation to Ginzan Onsen is quite convenient, you can go back and forth from Tokyo on the same day; and many people choose to stay at Onsen Village/Yamagata Station for 1 night. I originally wanted to stay at Ginzan Hot Spring Inn, but due to the peak season, even if I check 2.5 months in advance, there is no room 😪, so it is strongly recommended that you must book a room at least 3 months in advance, especially the famous ones hotel.
This time, my sister stayed in a hotel near JR Yamagata Station for 3 days and 2 nights.
Stayed one night at the Yamagata Hotel, the 2nd day went to JR Mizawa a very famous Mizawa beef restaurant for early lunch, lunch set price is not very cheap, but the wagyu is very high quality, my sister ordered a sukiyaki, beef It melts in your mouth and is really tender. The charge for eating the same quality beef in Hong Kong should be at least twice as expensive! Eating a delicious and satisfying lunch in the box while looking at the charming snow scene outside the window, this is life☺️
After a hearty lunch, I was overjoyed and immediately took the JR to Oishida Station, and then changed the bus to the long-awaited Ginzan Onsen.
Arriving at Oishida station, visually there were more than 40-50 people waiting for the bus, asked the solo girls in front, it turned out that these people had been waiting for at least an hour, because of the heavy snowstorm, the bus was off duty, even if there was a bus afterwards , there are only about 20 seats, many people waited for a long time but failed to get on the bus, and left when they couldn't wait. The little sister wanted to go to Silver Mountain, so she decided to brave the heavy snow ❄️ and stood at the open-air bus station and waited for 2.5 hours Tourists who know each other take a taxi to Ginzan Onsen together, the fare is about HK$100 per person.
It takes about half an hour from Oishita Station to Ginzan. After getting off the taxi, you have to walk a small slope to reach the Ginzan hot spring area. There are not many people and you can take a lot of beautiful photos at will . Because I wanted to wait in the village for a while to take pictures of the night view before leaving, I wanted to find a coffee shop to rest, but many shops were closed at 4pm and the inn was not open to the public, so I could only sit in a small lounge. The day and night have their own characteristics. It is recommended that you have time permission to stay and take pictures of the night view.
I was planning to take the last bus back to JR station at 6pm, but since many travelers left after taking the night view, there was a long queue at the bus station, more than 70/80 people, thinking I couldn't get on the last bus. Also can not catch JR, so the little sister immediately found someone to join the taxi, but the call station stated that 6 o'clock is the rush hour, the earliest to 8 o'clock to have a car 🙄 I want to be miserable, and to open the snow in the air blowing more 2 hours When... waiting until about 6:30, suddenly many passengers surrounded the three 10-seater cars parked at the bus station, it was to recruit passengers to the JR station, the driver could only speak Japanese and simple English, cold to death myself After ignoring the charges, I immediately got on the bus. Fortunately, it was charged with the rice meter. It was not overcharged. The average person did not need $100 HKD. I was really lucky. I was able to catch up with the 6:50 JR return to Yamagata😍
A warm reminder, be sure to pay attention to time management. If you miss a bus in Ginzan, you will also miss the JR, and you may waste an additional 1.2 hours waiting for the next bus. Of course, you don’t have to worry about this when you live in Ginzan, as many inns offer JR transfers.
