I visited Hakone, one of the famous hot spring resorts near Tokyo. I took the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Odawara Station. I left around evening, so I was able to arrive at the hotel late at night. Since I was traveling with my family, I looked for a place that was cheaper than a ryokan and had many facilities. The hotel had many facilities, such as a hot spring, foot bath, massage shop, lounge with books, and free drink corner, so it was perfect for families. The hotel is near Gora Station, so I recommend it to those going to Owakudani👍 The next day, I went from Gora Station to Owakudani. Originally, you get off at Sounzan Station and take the cable car, but the day I went, the cable car was being inspected. ※I recommend checking the operation information in advance. Luckily, there was a bus from Sounzan Station to Owakudani, so I took the bus.🚌 I think it took about 15 minutes by bus. You must eat black eggs at Owakudani. You have to eat it (4 for 500 yen!) However, drop-in bathers can only use the large public bath. This time I stayed overnight. In addition to the large public bath, there are two private baths. It is located in the west building, not the east building, which is the main building. This private bath is only available to guests staying at the hotel, but it is not a reservation system, so if it is not available, you can wait on a chair in front of the private bath. So the downside is that it is honestly difficult to predict the waiting time. The difference between the two private baths is the size as well as the design. There is one large public bath for men and one for women, and although there is no open-air bath, there is a sauna. In front of the large public bath, there is a corner where you can enjoy a foot bath and a space where you can drink detox water and coffee milk freely. It is here, where the ice cream is. At night, a bonfire is lit on the terrace, so I would definitely recommend going to see it at night. There are also tents and swing chairs so you can relax after a bath. In the east wing of the main building, there is a library lounge where you can enjoy free drinks and alcohol from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
