📌 Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre Hellfire Pass, Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province
This museum was originally called Hellfire Pass Museum, built as a memorial to Allied prisoners of war who were injured and died during the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway during World War II.
Inside the museum, there are exhibits on the history of the construction of the Thai-Burma Railway, including photographs, utensils, images of the prisoners of war, and a short film providing information about the history of Hellfire Pass and interviews with former prisoners of war in black and white. After visiting the museum, there is a walking path to Hellfire Pass, traces of the pass and unfinished railway tracks, looking shady and quiet, with beautiful natural views.
Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No admission fee.
How to get there: From Kanchanaburi town, take Highway 323 to Sai Yok District, passing Hom Phu Toei School. The place is on the left side with a sign for the Hellfire Pass Museum.
