[2025 Chiang Rai Attraction] Travel Guide for Huai Kaeo Waterfall (Updated May)

Spectacular!! Free entry and parking. There is signage around the area leading to the waterfall. Easy enough access to the waterfall though not wheelchair or stroller accessible past a certain point. You can climb up rocks to get closer to the waterfall but be very careful! The rocks are slippery, especially when wet. Quiet and few people around besides locals having picnics and a tourist every now and then. A must visit while in chiang mai considering how easy it is to get here! #weekendgetaways

Had the opportunity to go hiking in a small trip with 5 friends. It was so much fun with lots of trees along the way. It might be a bit slippery after the rain, but the sky after the rain is really beautiful. We reached the highest waterfall and the view was worth the patience to get here. The waterfall flowing and the sound of nature is very relaxing. The air up there is refreshingly cool. Huai Kaew Waterfall is located in Lam Nam Kok National Park, Ban Pong Nam Ron, Tambon Doi Hang, Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. It is a small waterfall but is known for its beauty. It is about 25 kilometers from Mueang Chiang Rai District. The surrounding area is full of shady and green forests. From the parking lot, it is about 300 meters from the path. It is quite fun and sweaty, but you have to be careful of slipperiness. Luckily, it did not rain today, but the ground was still wet. The waterfall is not very big, beautiful and very inviting for swimming. It is a place to breathe fresh air not far from Chiang Rai City.
