During my trip to Liyang, I specifically chose to stay at "Jiesu Bamboo Horse Ridge B&B," nestled deep within the Nanshan Bamboo Sea, and it did not disappoint! A 40-minute drive from the high-speed rail station through layers of bamboo forests brought me to a cluster of white buildings that instantly made me forget the hustle and bustle of city life. The B&B is a renovated old house, retaining its rammed earth walls and wooden structures while being equipped with modern facilities. My favorite spot was the rooftop terrace, where you can witness a sea of clouds in the morning and a sky full of stars at night, seemingly within reach. The rooms are themed around "bamboo," featuring wooden furniture paired with handcrafted items, and even the shampoo carries a subtle bamboo fragrance. The dining experience was exceptional! The owner personally prepared bamboo shoot stewed chicken, with a broth that was light yet flavorful, and a salad made from freshly picked organic vegetables that highlighted the natural taste of the ingredients. I highly recommend enjoying a hand-brewed coffee in the courtyard at sunset, watching the golden hues spill over the bamboo forest—it’s utterly relaxing. If you're tired of crowded tourist spots, this is the perfect place to rediscover inner peace. As I left, I was already looking forward to my next visit to this bamboo sea retreat!

My bestie invited me to Liyang to take my kids to play in the water. She took me to stay in a private B&B at night. It was a 2-story building with a swimming pool at the door and a basement entertainment room. It was so cozy! Away from the city, I experienced the joy of being in a paradise! It is a single-family villa with a minimalist wabi-sabi style (there are swimming pools, barbecues, billiards and karaoke in the public area). You can also pick fruits in the back mountain, which is very suitable for a relaxing vacation. The proprietress was very polite and even cooked hot pot for us! hint Although Liyang's attractions are scattered, transportation is convenient and you can drive or take a taxi.
