A hidden gem! This is Qingdao's "Houhai," a local favorite for seaside views, not a typical tourist spot. There's no beach, but a vast blue sea, boats, and a lighthouse. Numerous seagulls gather on the long breakwater by the lighthouse. The sunset here is stunning, perfect for photos!
✅Qingdao International Cruise Home Port
🎫Free!
📍Address: No. 1, Gangzhou Road, Shibei District, Qingdao
Beautiful scenery, fewer crowds! The passenger terminal boasts a sail-shaped design, cruise ships, sailboats, a container village, a soccer field, and the filming location for the movie "Catch the Doll," where Ma Jiye treated his mother and grandmother to a meal.
Seagulls leisurely stroll and perch on cruise ships and railings, providing excellent photo opportunities. In the evening, wait for the sunset; the seagulls against the setting sun create a breathtaking view!
📝Tips:
[One] Choose a sunny day for the best photos!
[Two] The best feeding time is between 8am and 4pm.
[Three] Use burst mode on your phone to capture seagulls in flight; you're bound to get some great shots.
[Four] Prepare seagull food in advance. Bread or Youtiao (Chinese fried dough sticks) broken into small pieces and stored in food bags are ideal. Food is available for purchase at Zhanqiao Pier, but not at other locations.
[Five] It's windy by the sea, so dress warmly. Hats, scarves, and gloves are essential!
