This temple is located on a hill, so you have to walk up some stairs. This temple has a terrace where you can view the lotus pond and Benten Temple opposite. What you can't miss is the pine tree that is bent into a circle like the moon, which is a must-see at this temple. Because it has a terrace, this temple is similar to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which has a terrace in Kyoto, except that this temple is much smaller. Inside the temple, you are not allowed to take pictures, but you can go inside to worship. We didn't spend much time walking down to another highlight, which is a temple on the edge of a lotus pond in the middle of Ueno Park.

Kiyomuzu Temple is one the oldest Buddhist temples in Tokyo, located in Ueno Park. It is home to the goddess Kosodate, the protector of childbearing and pregnant women. The temple is well-known for its Hello Kitty lucky charm. As the temple is situated on a hill, you would need to climb the stairs to reach there. Kiyomizu Kannon-do 1-29 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo One of the halls of Toeizan Kan'ei-ji Temple in Ueno Park. It was built to resemble Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto. It is the oldest existing building around Ueno Park with a clear construction date, and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Kiyomizu Kannon Hall is located in Ueno Park. It was built in 1631 by Tenkai Daisojo. The hall has a stage modeled after Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto. Looking across from this hall, you can see Shinobazu Pond and the Bentendo Hall! It is located on quite a high ground, so looking up from below it is truly reminiscent of Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
