Kranji Marshes is a Restricted Conservation Zone. For access to this section, you need to pre-arrange for a guided walk.
Located along the North Western side of the Kranji Reservoir, the Kranji Marshes is the largest (56.8 hectare) freshwater marshland in Singapore. Kranji Marshes is a natural wonderland filled with a impressive variety of wild life and flora.
According to National Parks Singapore, Kranji Marshes is home to over 170 species of birds, 33 species of dragonflies and 54 species of butterflies. Together with Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, it provides an important natural rainforest habitat in the Kranji area as part of Singapore's preservation efforts and is also an important part of Singapore's "green lungs". Many marsh birds like woodpeckers and other birds, reptiles, lizards can be found living here and if you are lucky you can catch the sight of an eagle too.
Kranji Marshes certainly provides an awesome walking trail for visitors to observe and enjoy a nature walk ! Remember to snap away at all the beautiful flowers and scenery !
If after walking along the wood trail and you are still game to go, climb up the top of the Raptor Tower for a panoramic view of Kranji Marshes !
Kindly Do not feed or disturb the natural wildlife there and avoid or stay clear if you come across any animal. And do remember to don on proper footwear and dress comfortably in neutral colours, bring your cap, umbrella, binoculars or extra change of clothes, sunblock / insect repellent and of course water for hydration !
