[Bangkok, Thailand] Beware of traps! All you want to do is see the night view at the world's highest rooftop bar, SKYBAR!
The rooftop of the five-star hotel Lebua is a sky bar that was used as a filming location for the movie Hangover Part II.
It's a capitalist pastime, so to speak, where you can enjoy the night view of Bangkok with a drink in hand at a high-end bar with a dress code.
I'd like to share with you my story of how I tried to have fun here for about 2,000 yen per person, but fell into a trap and ended up paying 20,000 yen for two people.
I wanted to see Bangkok at night from a high place.
They say that fools and smoke climb to high places, but for some reason, two men decided to go there.
In the elevator of the Lebua Hotel, a stylish Thai female staff member asked me where we were probably going, and I answered "rooftop bar" with a terrible pronunciation, but the female staff member took the two men to the terrace seats of a bar called "PINK", which was completely pink in the room.
I had a feeling that this was different...or rather, what kind of relationship do they think we have?
Two old men were sitting on a pink sofa. However, being a timid Japanese person, I was careful to look over the menu.
Then, when I saw the words champagne 3,000 Bath, I got up from my seat as if I had found a reason. It was too expensive.
There were no other customers at BAR PINK.
After some trouble dealing with the staff, we got on the elevator and finally arrived at the Sky Bar, where the golden dome and night view of Bangkok that I had seen in photos spread out below us.
I was relieved that we had finally arrived and quietly excited by the night view, when the staff guided us to a sofa seat and showed us the menu.
Cocktails 1,500 Bath
Champagne 4,000 Bath
That was expensive!! Isn't there an extra zero? ?
I had heard that you could get a drink at the Sky Bar for about 2,000 yen, so we reluctantly ordered cocktails and toasted.
Suddenly, I looked down from my seat and saw a round bar counter with neon lights that I had seen in a photo.
"Hey... maybe we can order there?"
The sky bar I wanted to go to was located at the bottom of a large staircase to the right of the elevator.
Ah, I've been tricked (again).
It was too late to realize it. We paid a toll of about 4,000 baht (16,000 yen) for alcohol and nuts, and went down the stairs to the sky bar.
Having spent a lot, we sipped on a cocktail and felt the Bangkok night view, the orange neon lights of the cars, and the heat of the Thai economy with their strong business spirit.
And I really thought that it was wrong to come here with a man.
