I took the subway and arrived at the northwestern gate of Lianhuashan Park. As soon as I entered the park, I felt this sense of openness and wholesomeness right away. Easily accessible by metro station (Children’s palace & Lianhuacan station) plenty of bus routes and a bridge over from Upperhills mall. The park features a statue to Chinese Leader Deng Xiaoping who helped create the special economic zone that has helped Shenzhen propel itself onto the world stage. As one of the fastest growing cities in history this is the perfect place to take in the view of the city, it spreads out as far as the eye can see and all the cities landmarks are in view. If you come up in the evening you can see the city lit up and if you're very lucky or plan well you can watch one of the cities famous light shows from the park. There are plenty of toilets, vending machines and shade for picnics - but on weekends and public holidays the park can become very very busy so best to visit weekend mornings or weekdays if you can.
