Travel month: February (2023)
Weather: Sunny with chances of 🌧
Hotel: Ibis Budget Singapore Mount Faber

💡 Singapore tourist pass - Offers tourists unlimited travel using LRT, MRT and buses for 1, 2 or 3 days. I obtained mine at the VivoCity station located at the Harbourfront.
💡Cable Car Flexi Pass - Offers unlimited cable car rides for the day and 2 free activities to choose from. I suggest getting the Sentosa Bus Tour and Wings of Time. I got the deal at the Harbourfronttower two gondola lift station for $65 per adult.
✨️ Day 1 - I spent the whole day exploring the popular spots near the Marina Bay.The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest require an entrance fee but it is worth it! I also loved the free Supertree lightshows at 7:45pm and 8:45pm.
📍 Esplanade -Theatres on the bay
📍 Merlion park
📍 Gardens by the Bay: Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and Supertree Grove.
✨️Day 2 - I roamed the streets of Chinatown and tried some delicacies. After lunch, I visited Mount Faber Peak and Sentosa Island via Cable car. I'm glad I opt in for Sentosa Bus Tour and Wings of Time as part of Flexipass deal. I was able to explore the island with short amount of time. If you prefer to spend more time at the USS, you need to be early as it can be very busy.
📍Chinatown
📍Mount Faber Peak
📍Sentosa Island: Resorts World Sentosa - Universal Studios, Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach, Imbiah Lookout and Fort Siloso Skywalk.
✨️Day 3 - I was able to see Singapore from the 57th floor of Marina Bays Sands hotel. I also immerse myself to art and technology in a museum and then I joined a optional night tour around Singapore. It was an awesome experience!
📍Skypark Observation Deck
📍ArtScience Museum
📍Night tour by Big Bus Tours - meet up at Suntec city. We visited Marina Barrage, Lau Pa Sat and Gardens by the Bay, ending the night with a breathtaking Supertree light show.

One of the best places to go for sunset is Marina Barrage, from there you will be able to see the sunset with the city skyline. You can have a picnic on the well lawned grass or fly a kite there. I did some cycling along the waterway to explore and admire the area and it is simply amazing and fills me with awe at what Singapore has accomplished. You can easily assess it from gardens by the bay MRT station. Highly recommend for days with good weather and you just want somewhere to chill at. Bring your own mat, food and drinks as there’s no shops nearby to get them.

Marina Barrage is one of our family’s favourite hang-out. It is interesting to know that this is meant as a reservoir. Besides its functional feature, it is a recreational place for families.
We love to come here to fly kites 🪁 and enjoy the spectacular views of the waterfront and Singapore skyline.
It is family-friendly as the facility allows people to walk and cycle. Or if you just want to enjoy the sunset like us, the parking space is available as well.

Views from the Marina Barrage…

An afternoon spent at the Marina Barrage is an opportunity to observe a changing sky, especially beautiful over the iconic triple towers of Marina Bay Sands. Set up a picnic on the green patch or simply walk around for scenic snaps of sea or city skyline. This public space is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I imagine it could be a good spot for stargazing in the wee hours…

Best Night View of the Singapore Skyline
Marina Barrage is a fantastic place for some bonding time over a picnic. During good weather, the whole place is very breezy. Come during the late afternoon with your picnic mats, kites, family, friends and pets when it is cooler and watch the sun go down. The night view from here is amazing, you’ll get a beautiful view of the Singapore skyline. It gets pretty crowded during the weekends so come early to secure a good spot. There are ample are available downstairs and this venue is stroller and wheelchair friendly as there is a lift to head upstairs. Personally, I feel the best time to come is at night when things quieten down and to see the night view of Singapore. Come check this place out!

Marina Barrage is an icon of Singapore we all already know. You’d likely have visited its sloping green roof sometime since it opened in 2008 to do at least one of the following: have a picnic, fly a kite, or just take photos.
It’s one of the most iconic landmarks in Singapore for both locals and tourists alike.
Whether you’re a foodie exploring the traditional flavours of a country or a gourmand who loves fusion and experimentation, Chinatown’s diverse food offerings are certain to sate your appetite.

Fun at Marina Barrage
Sometimes, it is hard to think of places to bring the children out, especially when most fun places such as amusement parks are expensive in Singapore. You have to pay for admission even for museums. So, I found a good and free place to bring the kids out to soak some vitamin D.
The marina barrage is perfect as it provides you with amazing city views of Singapore. You can cycle or scoot at the parks or cycling trails near the barrage. Once at the top of barrage, throw your picnic mats out and do some people watching, kite flying and just enjoying the sun and time there.
This is like a bi monthly activity that I will do with my kids and parking is not an issue as there is a car park directly outside of the barrage. The kids will thank you for this lovely fun place.

Morning Walk/Cycling at Marina Barrage
📍8 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018951
One of the reservoirs in Singapore, Marina Barrage is formed by building a dam across the rivers at Marina Channel. This also becomes the "bridge" in between and links Gardens by the Bay & The Bay East Garden together.
This forms a long stretch where one can walk or cycle at Marina Barrage and surroundings. It's also a nice scenic morning walk or cycle with the Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Flyer view. However, do note that there are no shades available at the "link bridge" and certain parts of the Marina Barrage, so do come earlier to avoid the heat and sun at the later part of the morning.
The Marina Barrage is also a place for flying kites, especially in the evening time when the sun is setting. Great for bringing your family for a nice weekend evening stroll and kite flying.

Singapore in a Relaxed Way
Our Singaporean friends often tell us that Singapore is a City of Gardens. This statement is not an exaggeration. Although the city is filled with tall buildings and modern structures, there are trees and gardens hidden throughout the city.
On this trip to Singapore, we tried cycling for about 10 kilometers, starting from East Coast Park and ending at Marina Bay.
💞Reasons to Recommend:
- The cycling route is very shady and beautiful, passing through public parks where you can stop to take photos with the Singapore Flyer in the background.
- Enjoy the evening atmosphere at Marina Barrage, where locals spend time with their families. This is our favorite spot in Singapore, and we make sure to visit every time we come.
Tips:
- To avoid the heat and sunlight, it's best to cycle in the evening before sunset.
- Don't forget a hat, sunglasses, and a light jacket to protect yourself from the sun.

Singapore 3D2N - if you go there just for a concert, low budget
#asiatrip
This is such a schedule for one who goes Sing for just a concert, but what would you do for the rest of time? So the recommendation is:
Day 1:
- Arrive, rest in hotel or hangout in any street, if the weather allows
- Evening: grab some Chinese food at Upper Cross Street, then go to the Michelin sweet soup
- Hike a bit to the Marina Barrage to get the full view of city night
Day 2:
- Get breakfast at Good Morning Nanyang, you will never regret of the kaya.
- Go to Sentosa or any museum if there's a interesting exhibition here. We go for Sentosa since there was Vangogh Immersive exhibition this day.
- Grab lunch at any food court or cheap chicken rice at hawker
- Go back to the hotel and ready for the concert
- After concert, you can go to Marquee or the Zuck - if you're up for a club
Day 3:
- Hang out at any street like Haji Lane, Egg Hoon, etc
- Go to the airport
Good luck!
