Lunch at Kintamani: Came for the Food, Stayed for the Volcano Drama 🌋
Booked a lunch spot with “a nice view” — didn’t realize I’d be dining face-to-face with an actual volcano.
There I was, eating fried rice like a queen, while Mount Batur just sat there in the background like,
“Yup, I’ve erupted before. You’re welcome for the vibes.”
The breeze? Chef’s kiss.
The food? Spicy enough to make me question all my life choices.
The view? So good I forgot to Instagram my meal — almost.
Also, tried to take a cute selfie but the wind decided to turn my hair into a Balinese bird’s nest.
Still posted it
Note to self: If you eat buffet style here, pace yourself. Or end up rolling downhill straight into Lake Batur.
Kintamani — you’re cold, dramatic, photogenic, and you make my nasi goreng taste better.
10/10 lunch with a side of lava energy. 🌶️🌋

Mount Batur Stared Me Down While I Ate — Just Another Day in Kintamani
Started my day with Ubud’s peaceful vibes—rice terraces, temples, the whole spiritual package. Then my supir casually says, “Let’s go to Kintamani.” I thought we were just sightseeing… next thing I know, I’m having nasi campur with a volcano view! 😱🍽️🌋
Yes, friends. I had lunch with Mount Batur watching me chew like some majestic, smoky food critic in the background. The sambal? Spicy. The rice? Fluffy. The view? Out of control. I swear that mountain made the food taste 10x better. Or maybe I was just overwhelmed by the altitude and the spice level. Either way, zero regrets.
Note to self: Always trust your supir. He knows where the rice meets the skies. 🙌🏼😂

🇮🇩Mount Batur Jeep Sunrise Experience⛰Bali Indonesia
It was my first ever Jeep ride up a mountain, and I was pretty excited about it!
.
Initially, I planned to book through Klook, but I found the listing options a bit confusing and hard to choose from. Thankfully, one of my travel buddies had done it before and suggested we get help from our private driver. He had a local contact and managed the booking for us—super smooth and fuss-free.
.
When we were there, we left our hotel in Ubud around 1–2am and reached Mount Batur by about 4am, just in time to wait for the sunrise. There were more than a dozens of jeeps scattered across the mountain—some ahead of us, some behind—so we weren’t the first or the last up there. It was quite a scene!
.
The jeeps park right along the edge of the slope, which can look terrifying at first glance—but they’re surprisingly stable. It’s not for the faint-hearted, but definitely worth it if you’re looking to conquer a fear or try something new.
.
I wasn’t too scared since I was up for the adventure, but I’ll admit, sitting on the jeep so close to the edge did make my heart skip a beat. Still, I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t climb up to the top—so I did!
.
Managed to snap a few shots too. Our jeep driver tried his best with the photos, but if you're particular about getting great shots, definitely bring a friend who knows how to shoot well. A tripod didn’t work for us—the ground was too uneven and it kept toppling over.
.
Get your shots from every angle—you’ll thank yourself later!

Where the Earth Smokes and the Sky Glows: Mount Batur by Jeep
#springitinerary
The Mount Batur Sunrise Jeep Tour in Bali is a thrilling early-morning adventure where you ride a 4WD jeep up volcanic terrain to catch a breathtaking sunrise over Mount Batur.
Instead of hiking, the jeep takes you off-road to a scenic viewpoint, where you’ll watch the sky light up over Lake Batur and Mount Agung. After sunrise, the tour often includes a drive through the dramatic black lava fields, remnants of past eruptions, and a relaxing stop at nearby natural hot springs.
It’s a perfect mix of adventure, stunning views, and relaxation—ideal for anyone wanting a unique Bali experience without the climb.
Tip: Dress warmly! Early mornings on the mountain can get chilly, especially before the sun rises. A light jacket or layers will keep you comfortable while you wait for the first light.
