Explore the Narusawa Ice Cave!
#Spring0yenTrip
The Narusawa Ice Cave is a natural lava cave located in the Aokigahara Jukai forest at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji. Along with the Fugaku Wind Cave, it is a designated national natural monument. The cave is covered with ice all year round, so it is cool even in summer and you can experience a fantastic ice world.
Attractions:
* A world of ice all year round: The average temperature inside the cave is low at about 3°C, so you can see natural icicles and ice walls all year round. In particular, in summer, the cool space spreads out, in stark contrast to the heat outside, making it a popular summer resort.
* A vertical cave: While the Fugaku Wind Cave is a horizontal cave, the Narusawa Ice Cave is characterized by its vertical structure. You can experience the feeling of exploring as you go down the steep stairs.
* Mysterious ice formations: Inside the cave, you can see various ice formations created by nature, such as giant icicles, ice stalagmites hanging from the ceiling, and ice blocks spreading across the floor. The lit-up ice creates an even more fantastic atmosphere.
* History as a storehouse: During the Edo period, ice was stored here as a natural refrigerator and was even presented to the shogunate.
* Aokigahara Jukai: The cave is surrounded by lush nature, making it the Aokigahara Jukai forest. There are walking paths, so you can enjoy forest bathing in addition to cave exploration.
* A cool sensation: Even in midsummer, it is very cool inside the cave, allowing you to feel the power of nature on your skin.
