You need to buy tickets even if you stay in a 🏡 inside the town. 🍄Day 2: Rehai Scenic Area → Simola Wa Ethnic Village → Heshun Ancient Town ✅ Rehai Scenic Area: I bought a combo ticket (1 adult + 1 child admission + hot spring + shuttle bus + 2 portions of rice noodles, total 🎫CNY 318). You can buy grass-woven egg holders for about CNY 4-5 at the entrance to experience hot spring egg boiling. Near the hot pool, people place eggs on the ground to steam them, though they say the eggs won't cook through. There's free egg-cooking service nearby, which takes about 30 minutes. ✅ Simola Wa Ethnic Village: An authentic ancient village with well-preserved ethnic culture, built along the mountainside. If you take a ride-hailing service, cars are stopped at the village entrance. Most visitors buy round-trip shuttle tickets. I chatted with my driver who took a detour to enter the village. If you're dropped at the entrance, just buy a one-way shuttle ticket, as you can call a car from inside the village when leaving. Empty cars are allowed to enter, but not those carrying passengers. 🍄Day 3: Heshun Ancient Town → Western Yunnan Earthquake Memorial Museum → National Martyrs' Cemetery → Dieshuihe Waterfall → Tengchong City ✅ Western Yunnan Memorial Museum free guided tour times: 10:00, 10:40 AM, 2:00, 2:40 PM. ✅ National Martyrs' Cemetery is next to the Western Yunnan Memorial Museum. Here lie 8,000 heroes of the Anti-Japanese Expedition Army, making it an important patriotic education base. ✅ Dieshuihe Waterfall belongs to the Irrawaddy River system and is one of the rare waterfalls located within city limits. 🍄Day 4: Beihai Wetland → Qiluo Ancient Town ✅ Beihai Wetland is a paradise for migratory birds. There are bamboo rafts, water bicycles, and other water facilities for entertainment. Bamboo rafting is not recommended - while unique, it's quite strenuous. ✅ Qiluo Ancient Town is less popular than Heshun Ancient Town and mainly inhabited by locals. If you enjoy tranquility and ancient atmosphere, it's worth a visit. The Wenchang Temple at the village entrance was originally built in the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt during the Kangxi period, and completed in the 9th year of Qianlong's reign. Its specific purpose is unknown and it has been closed for several years. Local residents couldn't provide more information. ☄️ Accommodation Stay in Heshun Ancient Town for the first two days, then in the city center. In the ancient town, it's recommended to stay on the street where Shushu Bookstore is located, as 🚗 can reach the entrance. If you stay deeper inside the town, 🚗 cannot reach your accommodation.

🌟Highlights: The exhibition hall of the Yunnan-Western Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall is divided into seven parts: the rear of the Anti-Japanese War, the front line of defending against the enemy, the confrontation on the Nujiang River, the Jedi counterattack, the expulsion of the invaders, the immortality of the old soldiers and the prayer for peace. On the west side of the memorial hall, there is a 133-meter-long Chinese Expeditionary Force List Wall, engraved with the names of 103,141 Chinese Expeditionary Force soldiers, Allied soldiers, local anti-Japanese guerrillas, local civilian casualties, and co-operating troops and unit personnel who participated in the War of Resistance in western Yunnan. Don’t ignore Tengchong’s “Martyrs’ Cemetery”, you must go and see it! ! ! The green mountains bury loyal bones, and the mountains and rivers remember the heroic souls. The Martyrs' Cemetery commemorates the heroes and has both commemorative and educational significance. Many parents bring their children here and are deeply touched. The first thing you see on the left hand side when you enter is the "Alarm Bell", with "Never Forget National Humiliation" on the front and "Cherish Peace" on the back, and on the left is the "Alarm Bell Monument". On the right hand side of the entrance is the Western Yunnan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall. The entrance hall has the history of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and a wall of 1,003 steel helmets with bullet holes. The 7 exhibition halls on the first floor tell the history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, while the second floor displays the atrocities committed by Japan. Japan's crimes are too numerous to list, and the unyielding sacrifices of the martyrs are touching and moving. On the left hand side of the memorial hall is the list wall of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, with 103,141 names. Walking past the list wall is the National Cemetery and lawn sculptures, where many tourists lay flowers to commemorate the heroic souls. Upwards are the Martyrs' Shrine, Martyrs' Cemeteries and Memorial Tower. The Martyrs' Cemeteries are the most touching, as the martyrs rest here forever. [Shy] Sit quietly in the garden, look at the green bamboo and pines, listen to the birds singing, and feel the martyrs who sacrificed their flesh and blood to bring peace and tranquility. In front of the "Japanese Tomb", you can quietly reflect on Mr. Li Genyuan's inscription and intentions. Three Japanese pirates were also buried here to guard the gate forever and apologize!

Yunnan's revolutionary history is an important part of China's modern revolutionary history. From the Revolution of 1911 to the National Protection Movement, from the Long March to the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, to the War of Liberation and the socialist construction after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the people of Yunnan have always stood at the forefront of the revolution and made important contributions to China's liberation and development. This trip to Yunnan was mainly in the western part of Yunnan. With infinite mourning and remembrance, we visited the former residence of Nie Er in Kunming Old Street with our children; we went to the National Cemetery to pay tribute to the martyrs and review the difficult journey of the expeditionary army's resistance against Japan and the hard cooperation of the people of western Yunnan. It was the first time for us to visit the former residence of Ai Siqi with our children and learn about the legendary life of the great thinker who worked hard and made progress. Ai Siqi, whose real name was Li Shengxuan, was a famous Chinese Marxist philosopher and educator. Ai Siqi's main works include "Popular Philosophy", "Philosophy and Life", etc. These works explain the basic principles of Marxist philosophy in simple and easy-to-understand language, making it easier for ordinary readers to accept. His work not only promoted the spread of Marxist philosophy in China, but also made important contributions to the development of Chinese philosophy. We also went to Heshun Library together to explore its history. Its predecessor was the Xianxin Society, a progressive cultural group in the late Qing Dynasty, and the Reading Newspaper Society organized around the May Fourth Movement. In 1928, the Reading Newspaper Society was expanded into a library and named "Heshun Library". - In 1938, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the library, the old site was rebuilt into a larger Chinese and Western-style library. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the library also became the strategic command center of the 20th Army Group of the Expeditionary Force. - In 1980, the library was incorporated into the national public library system. - In 1998, the "Cangzhen Building", a two-story steel and concrete building in ancient style, was built to collect ancient books, rare books, and local documents. Lin Weiyin once lived in Kunming for more than two years, and when she passed through the hometown of her friend Shen Congwen in Yuanling County, she lamented in a letter: "If it were not for the sadness and sorrow in my heart during this war, I would not know how many lives I would have to live for this trip."
