Getting There - Book your ferry in advance to this island, departing from Fremantle, Perth Attractions - The Basin, Salmon Bay, Wadjemup and Bathurst Lighthouses, Pinky beach, Henrietta Rocks and many many more!! Things to do - 1.Snorkle or Dive at little Salmon Bay and/or Parker point! ( you can rent your equipments in the rental shop upon reaching the island near the visitor centre ) 2. Relax on some Rotto famous beaches ( there 60 over secluded beaches and 20 over bays on this island, each with spectacular view ) 3. Visit Oliver Hill Guns and Tunnels (history from second world war if you care to explore more ) 4. Join a heritage / cultural tour around the island to understand more 5. Rent your own bike and explore! ( there's electric bikes for rental too, for people who can't manage sooooo many uphill climbs of the island, and yes that's me) 6. QUOKKA SELFIE!!! This is a must on this island! it's my second time on this island already, and will definitely recommend everyone and anyone to visit if you're in perth! it's really a superb getaway from the city hustle!

In recent years, this short-tailed kangaroo has become famous all over the world for being regarded as the world's most funny little animal, but when I went to Australia, Rottnest Island was not such a popular attraction~ It is really convenient to take the Rottnest Express from Perth Fremantle to Rottnest Island, about half an hour away, as convenient as going to Lamma Island, and the boat is very smooth all the way. Rottnest Island is not very big, if you just want to come and find Quokka, in fact, the early boat to the late boat away is enough, and we chose to stay one night at that time~ The roads to this small island are easy to find and you can actually explore the whole island very quickly by bike. But on the way to meet Quokka, it will be delayed a lot of time! Because they are really too cute, and gossip and relatives, they will take the initiative to come to find you, so selfie is not difficult! But Rottnest Island has many beautiful scenery worth seeing besides Quokka, so be sure to schedule some time to cycle around! And the most recommended of them is. One-day tours are also held, so it's easy to make reservations from Japan and I recommend it. The ocean is simply beautiful. However, depending on the location and season, strong winds may occur, so it's a good idea to plan your route based on the weather conditions of the day. As shown in the third photo, I saw many trees that appeared to have been bent by strong winds. Ferries to Rottnest Island depart from Fremantle and Hillarys, and this time I took the ferry from Fremantle⛴️ It takes about 30 minutes by train from Perth Station to Fremantle Station, and about a 10-minute walk from Fremantle Station to the ferry terminal! Two companies operate the ferries: Rottnest Express and Sealink. I've tried both, and I didn't notice much difference in price or service. A 30-minute ferry ride later, you're greeted by the stunning Rottnest Blue🌊 The crystal-clear waters are absolutely breathtaking😆😆 As you walk from the ferry terminal, you'll start spotting quokka wallabies here and there! Once you enter the town, you'll see plenty of them! They're so adorable that I couldn't stop taking pictures📸 Rottnest Island is a small island, so many people rent bicycles to explore. I tried renting a bike once, but with all the hills, it was quite challenging for someone like me who's not very active. For those in the same boat, there's a bus that goes around the island, which I highly recommend! By the way, if you're in Fremantle, I recommend visiting Little Creatures Brewery☺️ They offer a menu where you can sample and compare various types of beer!

As soon as I arrived, I rented a pink bike (of course!) and rode around the cutest little paths, stopping at white sand beaches with turquoise water. But let’s be real—the quokkas were the highlight. These little fluffballs are the happiest creatures on earth, and YES, I got a quokka selfie (life goal = complete). The island is super chill and has serious “summer escape” energy, perfect for tanning, snorkeling, or sipping iced drinks by the sea. I spent my afternoon sunbathing, eating fresh seafood, and just soaking in the salty breeze. It felt like a girl’s dream getaway—carefree, sunny, and totally magical.
