A Day at L+ Snow: Snow Fun Without Leaving the South
I recently spent a day at L+ Snow, and it turned out to be a fun, unique experience! Here’s a breakdown of my visit, from logistics to highlights and tips.
🚗Getting There and Parking:
Since I drove from Puxi, I had to prepare for a bit of a drive. The venue is a bit far from the city center, but they have staff on hand to guide you through parking, which makes it more manageable. Just a heads-up that you may need to walk a short distance from the parking lot to the entrance.
⛷️Time Inside and Tips for Staying Warm:
We bought a 4-hour ticket, but realistically, around 3 hours is enough if you consider the time spent on changing clothes and getting ready. Inside, it’s quite cold – they’ve recreated a winter wonderland, after all! I recommend wearing a solid base layer of quick-dry thermal clothing. While they provide snow gear like jackets and boots, personal items like hats, scarves, and gloves are a must for extra warmth. I found that after 2 hours, it was already chilly enough that I needed a warm break.
💡Activities and Highlights:
L+ Snow offers a range of snow activities, from sledding to mini slopes where beginners can try out skiing. It’s a fantastic way to let kids (and adults!) experience the joys of snow without having to travel up north. My personal favorite was the snow play area, which was perfect for some fun photos and letting loose. That said, the popularity of the venue means there are some lines, especially for the more exciting activities.
🥯Food and Nearby Options
Inside, the food options are pretty limited – mainly coffee, cake, and a FamilyMart convenience store for snacks. So, if you’re planning a longer stay, I’d suggest having a good meal beforehand. For dinner, we decided to check out A-Xin Seafood nearby, which was an excellent choice! The fresh dishes and local flavors were a great way to end the day.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Yaoxue is a unique destination that offers a true winter experience for those of us in the South. It’s great for families, especially with young children who’ve never seen snow before. Just make sure to come prepared for the cold and consider timing your visit to avoid peak hours if possible.
Hope this helps for anyone planning to visit!
