The first snow mountain in life | Guide to the second peak of Siguniang Mountain!
| Siguniang Mountain Second Peak Guide!
!!! First, don't believe anyone who says you can climb just by having legs! Don't be fooled by dy! Make sure you exercise regularly! If you can't climb anymore, requesting a rescue will cost 80,000! The rescue fees will be exorbitant. The choice of club and fees vary greatly. For example, the famous Walking in the Clouds requires registration three miles in advance in the mountains, so I chose the Stepping Club. The experience was excellent. The leader and guide were young, humorous, and responsible. Almost everyone who participated in the summit attempt reached the summit. My goal was to reach the summit, so I didn't compare camp meals and accommodations (if you care about these, I recommend comparing multiple clubs). Since the two-peak ratio has changed to 1:1, the cost of equipment has increased to over 2,000. The club provides trekking poles, shoe chains, and a water tarp, but you have to prepare all other equipment yourself! All the necessary climbing gear can be rented in town, but it's a bit pricey and not really worth it. I recommend buying a lot of gear online. It's fully equipped and reasonably priced. Regarding medications, I brought montmorillonite powder and ibuprofen, but I didn't use them. Ibuprofen is not recommended for personal use in the plateau. For meals, bring plenty of high-calorie options, such as protein bars and energy gels, or buy some rice balls at the Chengdu Lawson 7-Eleven. Try to stock up on Coke before entering the scenic area, as it's 12 yuan a bottle. Drink plenty of hot water. Also, remember to bring two buckets of instant noodles! Breakfast on the first day and lunch on the third day aren't included, and instant noodles cost 15 yuan a bucket!
Day 0: Arriving in Chengdu from all over the country
Day 1: Depart from Chengdu and arrive in Siguniang Mountain Town (3,200 meters above sea level) in the afternoon. Check in, sign a life and death agreement, and purchase various rental items. No showering or washing your hair before bed. Keep the windows open a crack. If you have trouble sleeping, bring earplugs and an eye mask. You never know who your roommate is, so don't ask me how I know! Day 2: After breakfast at 8:30, we headed to the scenic area to complete formalities. Prepare your ID cards in advance. The responsible guide will collect them and return them to you upon descent to prevent them from being lost. After entering the scenic area, there's a long staircase and plank path leading to Zhaijieping. Some hikers choose to ride horses, while others hike on foot. Riding has its pros and cons. The advantage is that it saves energy, but the disadvantage is that the intensity of the summit push can be overwhelming and lead to an early descent. If you're confident you can reach the summit, I recommend hiking to base camp. As a frequent marathon runner, I hiked up and down, since the 500-meter climb and 500-meter descent are equally challenging. The 17-kilometer climb involves an elevation gain of 1,100 meters, with 80% of the climb being gentle. The restroom is about halfway up, where you can eat. Arriving at camp will be cold and windy, so immediately add layers and try to stay active to minimize altitude sickness. Wearing a wicking layer under your sleeping bag will provide insulation. If the weather is good, you can sleep without altitude sickness. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a night before reaching the summit. Day 3: Wake up at 3:30 AM for breakfast, then don headlamps and crampons and set off. The climb is 7 kilometers and 700 meters. The terrain is steep and the terrain is poor. After a warm-up slope, a gravel slope, and a despair slope, we reach the pass. We must reach the pass before 7:00 AM to reach the summit. The slope is steep and covered with ice. Sunrise around 7:00 AM is the best time to reach the summit. Then we queue up to check in (there's an old stone tablet next to the check-in point, but there's no line). The ascent is easy, but the descent is difficult, so it's important to conserve some energy. After reaching Base Camp, we hike down. Return to the hotel and return to Chengdu. #Siguniangshan Big Peak #Siguniangshan Travel Guide My First Snow Mountain
This is my first snow mountain climb. For those who enjoy sports, it's not stressful, but if you live at a lower altitude, you might experience some altitude sickness. Just take your time. Don't worry, the guide will be responsible and will follow you closely! They won't rush you. If they do, you can complain directly! Just persevere.
