Visit Tamsui Longshan Temple
Tamsui Longshan Temple is a temple located in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. It is currently a designated municipal monument. Tamsui Longshan Temple, Tamsui Qingshui Temple, Tamsui Yanshan Temple, and Tamsui Fuyou Temple are collectively known as the Four Great Temples of Tamsui.
Situated in the alleys of Tamsui Old Street, hidden within the market, it is one of the five existing Longshan Temples in Taiwan. Tamsui Longshan Temple was built in 1858, dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. The narrow street house-style temple used to have a spacious temple courtyard and a garden at the back.
This temple, along with other temples in Taiwan named 'Longshan Temple'—Mengjia Longshan Temple, Lukang Longshan Temple, Tainan Longshan Temple, and Fengshan Longshan Temple—are all derived from Anhai Longshan Temple in Jinjiang County, Quanzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province.
