This #Japanese-style ice shop is located on the banks of the Tamsui River (on Zhongzheng Road, Tamsui District). We noticed it a long time ago, and took some time off on this day to walk around Tamsui Old Street. It was around 5pm, close to sunset, and we ordered the ##北海白🐻君 with a cute 🐻🐻 pattern for $130. It was made with @昭和水钻冰 (in other words, shaved ice haha🤣) and the filling was @万丹蜜红豆🫘 cooked by the store. The 🐻's eyes are plums, the nose is chocolate rice crackers, and the ears are soda crackers, which is quite creative 😍 It also comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream + handmade white jade meatballs🍡, which tasted super good. Then we sat by the Tamsui River to eat and enjoy the beautiful sunset 🌅 OH! It was a very satisfying accommodation experience. The hotel is a completely new hotel in a newly built building, not a remodeled old building. You can feel the Japanese elegance from the design of the hotel entrance on the first floor. Take the dedicated elevator directly to the counter and lobby on the 6th floor. The service staff are friendly and polite, and provide detailed information about check-in, hotel facilities and services. The lobby is designed in a Japanese minimalist style, with seats for travelers to rest, and tea, coffee, and bottled mineral water are provided for travelers to enjoy. We were very lucky to be assigned a room with a river view of the Tamsui River on a high floor during this stay. The hotel is the tallest building in the area and there are no obstructions around it, so we can clearly see the Tamsui River. It is rare for a hotel in a downtown area to have such a view! The design of the room is both beautiful and practical, with sockets everywhere, meeting the needs of modern people for using technological products. The shower room, toilet and washbasin are separated to increase efficiency. There is a small sofa and a small round table next to the window, where travelers can rest, eat midnight snacks, and enjoy the beautiful river view outside the window! The mattress is firm enough and provides support when sleeping. Four pillows and two small pillows are provided, which shows the hotel's attention to detail! It is worth affirming that there is no peculiar smell in the hotel from the staircase hall, lobby to the room, and there is even a faint fragrance, which once again shows the importance Japanese hotels attach to the travelers' stay experience! This booking does not include breakfast, and the additional price is 600 yuan per person. The breakfast was rated very highly, but unfortunately I was unable to enjoy it this time due to my schedule. #July Travel Support Event I visited Danshui District, which became famous as the filming location for the movie Secret That Cannot Be Told on a cloudy day. There was no pretty sunset or blue sky, but Danshui River on a cloudy day had charm and atmosphere! And there weren't many people, so I was able to look around leisurely~

Located in the northern part of Taiwan, Tamsui is about 30 kilometers northwest of Taipei City, along the coast. Historically, Tamsui was an important port town and was known as the oldest port in Taiwan during the Qing Dynasty. Tamsui's main attractions include the Tamsui Old Street. This area retains the old streetscape and traditional buildings, attracting many tourists. Additionally, the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf on the coastline is famous as a spot for watching the sunset. Tamsui also features the Tamsui River Estuary Nature Reserve, a rich natural area. The reserve is significant as a habitat for birds and plants, making it popular among nature lovers and bird watchers. Tamsui is a place worth visiting for those who want to experience Taiwan's history, culture, and nature.

Here are some sunset spots in Tamsui that you can get to from Taipei by MRT♪ ① Tamsui Old Street When you leave Tamsui Station, the road to the right along the Tamsui River is Tamsui Old Street. There are a variety of shops selling miscellaneous goods and food. In particular, there is no shop selling bite-sized pineapple cakes in Taipei City, and they can only be purchased in Tamsui. They are filled with plenty of bean paste and have a pie-like dough, so they are highly recommended. Halfway through Tamsui Old Street, there is Tamsui Fuyou Temple, where locals come to worship. (Currently under construction as of March 2024) It takes about 15 minutes from the starting point of Tamsui Station to reach the end of Tamsui Old Street. ② Fort San Domingo When it comes to Tamsui, Fort San Domingo is famous. You can reach it by walking through Tamsui Old Street and then another 5 minutes. Admission is 80 NTD for adults. Fort San Domingo is said to be the oldest surviving building in Taiwan, and was also used as the British Consulate. It consists of two buildings, each with its own exhibits. Among the exhibits in the consulate is a reproduction of a living room. Also, since it is on a hill, the view of the Tamsui River from Fort San Domingo is beautiful.
