One-stop guide to Macau, keep this guide handy
Macau is a world-renowned food capital and a tourist paradise where Eastern and Western cultures blend. I live in the Greater Bay Area and often travel to Macau for vacations, enjoying each trip immensely. This summer, there are many new activities in Macau, so plan your itinerary right away.
✅ Guia Hill: The geographical origin of Macau, including the Guia Lighthouse and the Chapel of Our Lady of Snow, where you can enjoy the view of the Macau Peninsula.
✅ Cotai Strip: The night view here is especially outstanding, with photo spots all over the resorts like The Venetian, The Parisian, and The Londoner. Recommended photo spots include the canopy at the main entrance of The Londoner Hotel, the Macau Eiffel Tower, and the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian.
✅ "Cool Macau Market": Starting from July 12, every Friday to Sunday and during the National Day Golden Week, from 14:00 to 20:00 at the Lisboeta Exhibition Hall. The event features cultural and creative products, handicrafts, and more, making it a fun place to visit, take photos, and eat.
✅ Fat Little Pink Swimming in the Pond: From July 5 to October 5, 11:00 to 22:00, MGM has meticulously planned a sweet feast to bring coolness and joy to the public during the hot summer days! The giant inflatable water art installation "Fat Little Pink Swimming in the Pond" is tailor-made for Ma Kok Pond and will be unveiled in collaboration with local specialty food trucks gathered in front of Maritime Workshop No. 2, offering a variety of exclusive, limited, and creative delicacies that will make your taste buds dance in coolness and deliciousness.
✅ Egg-shaped Egg Language Immersive Art Experience: From June 28 to October 7, 10:00 to 22:00, the tiny "egg" will take the big stage! Right at the Galaxy Promenade in "Galaxy Macau™"! A series of interactive installations are perfect for taking photos!
😍 When traveling to Macau, you can't miss tasting the food! There are popular pork chop buns and Portuguese egg tarts, as well as wonton noodles, egg waffles, curry fish balls, beef offal, almond cookies, jerky, various congees, and more, all so delicious you can't stop eating.
By the way, starting from August, shopping in Macau is very cost-effective! The Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation announced on June 28 that from August 1, 2024, a convenient duty-free policy will be fully implemented for residents aged 18 and above entering from Macau. Such travelers will enjoy duty-free clearance for personal items purchased abroad, provided their total value does not exceed RMB 12,000. Additionally, at ports equipped with inbound duty-free shops, travelers can purchase a specified quantity of duty-free goods in the shop, and the value of these goods will be combined with the total value of personal items obtained abroad. As long as the total value does not exceed RMB 15,000, they will also enjoy duty-free clearance. This preferential measure now covers all entry ports, providing travelers with a more flexible and convenient shopping experience (except for the Hengqin "first-line" port).
