The Longevity Pagoda is located on the Elephant Trunk Rock of the Jingjiang Embankment in the southwest of Shashi District, Jingzhou City. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hubei Province. This pagoda was built in the twenty-seventh year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1548 AD), when Zhu Xianzun, the king of Liao who was enthroned in Jiangling, was built to honor the birthday of the Jiajing Emperor at the order of his mother Mao Taifei. This pagoda is a pavilion-style pagoda, with a masonry structure, seven octagonal levels, and a height of more than 40 meters. There is a tall stone seat under it. "Diamond Sutra". Under the eaves of the Wanshou Pagoda, the brick carvings imitate the wood forehead, and the workmanship of Fang and Dougong is simple and generous. The outer wall of the tower is embedded with 94 niches of white marble Buddha statues, which are solemn in shape and vivid in charm. There are also many white marble Buddha statues on the inner wall, as well as 901 tiles and character bricks, which are engraved with Chinese, Manchu and Tibetan respectively, which are dedicated to various places. The Longevity Pagoda was built on the embankment of the Jingjiang River. In addition to the purpose of praying for the emperor's longevity, it also has the meaning of blocking the river flow, subduing the flood demons, and keeping one side safe. For hundreds of years, the Longevity Pagoda has not only witnessed the history of the floods on both sides of the Jingjiang River, but also carried the good wishes of people to subdue the river.
