Luang Pu Aim, first name, Saphan Sung Temple, Nonthaburi
Wat Saphan Sung or Wat Sawang Arom is a temple built in the early Rattanakosin period. It will be long. Let me tell you a brief history of Luang Pu Eiam, the first name. He was a villager in the area next to Wat Thong Khung Khlong Phra Udom. When he was 22 years old, he was ordained as a monk and studied the Dharma and meditation until he knew the essence of his mind and was steadfast in meditation. Later, Luang Pu became the abbot of the temple at that time, called Wat Sawang Arom. When Luang Pu Eiam became the abbot, he created amulets such as Phra Pidta and Takruts, etc., so that relatives and devotees could make merit and use the money to build the building, especially the Ubosot and the Sala Karn Parian. Later, he went on a pilgrimage to seek the truth of meditation practice, so that his mind would not wander and he would be alone in the forest. Then he went on a pilgrimage to Cambodia and met a white-skinned nun who was Cambodian. He learned magic from the white-skinned nun until he forgot to return to Wat Sawang Arom for more than 10 years. As for Wat Sawang Arom, when relatives and devotees discussed it, they thought that Luang Pu Eiam had passed away. Therefore, they jointly performed a merit-making ceremony to dedicate the merit to him. When Luang Pu Eiam meditated, he knew with his divine intuition, so he went on a pilgrimage back to Wat Sawang Arom. But at that time, there was a story that Luang Pu Eiam had a long beard and long hair, similar to a hermit who was practicing asceticism. When Luang Pu Eiam returned on his pilgrimage, wild animals followed him to the temple, such as tigers, bears, and king cobras. Then Luang Pu Eiam stayed at Wat Sawang Arom because he was content, modest, and spoke little, but his words were sacred and had high compassion. Helping all relatives and devotees when they are in trouble until the last moment, he passed away in 1896 at the age of 80. Later, Luang Pu Klin became the abbot and built a statue of Luang Pu Eiam to be placed in front of the chapel until today. Luang Pu Klin built a bridge across Khlong Phra Udom for the travel of all relatives and devotees in 1914. At that time, Somdet Phra Maha Samana Chao Krom Phraya Vajirananavarorasa, the Supreme Patriarch, traveled to inspect the work with the monks at Wat Sawang Arom. He saw the importance of the bridge across Khlong Phra Udom. It looked tall, so he changed the name of Wat Sawang Arom to Wat Saphan Sung.
