When driving here, I found that the place is very uniquely decorated. It turned out to be a Buddhist temple after walking past it. Inside the not-so-large courtyard is a grand hall, but it is very finely decorated and stands out on this street. It's close to Manting Park, so you might as well take a look if you're passing by.

Surrounded by lush tropical rainforests along the way, the air was filled with the fresh fragrance of nature. As the journey progressed, the anticipation in my heart grew like the burgeoning greenery, expanding bit by bit. 🏯🔮 Finally, the majestic Grand Buddha Temple came into view, with its golden roof shimmering in the sunlight with a divine glow. I stepped over the threshold of the temple with devout steps, as if in an instant, I had traveled through time and space to a tranquil and solemn world. Therefore, in Xishuangbanna, Buddha statues, temples, pagodas, etc. can be seen everywhere, the most famous of which are the Big Buddha Temple and the Shwedagon Pagoda. The Big Buddha Temple is the Buddhist center of Xishuangbanna Prefecture and is also the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia. The Shwedagon Pagoda is the most spectacular of all the pagodas in Xishuangbanna. The tower is 66.6 meters high (in the form of a pagoda forest), with a large pagoda in the middle and four small pagodas around it, with the large pagoda as the core. #createwithtrip Xishuangbanna is relatively easy to navigate alone for anybody. This temple is no different, it’s free to enter and very easy to work your way through. As you can tell, I went when it was raining so it was rather quiet in terms of other people around yet this made it more enjoyable. The area is filled with small paths that lead you through so you wouldn’t miss any part. I ended with walking up to the Big Buddha, the steps circle round the statue and go on past until you reach the temple at the top. The view on the glass walkway here is worth it! Xishuangbanna Buddhist Temple is a popular and impressive temple which you should visit if you are in Jingling downtown. Expect to spent between one to two hours in this site. The temple is really well preserved and is a pleasure to see in person. I strongly recommend to visit this place early in the day as there is some climbing and the weather is very hot. There is no need to hire a guide, however, if you are into history and culture and want to know more of the Buddhas in the temple then you might need one.
