When I arrived at Ngarunui Beach, the school's truck was parked conspicuously in the parking lot, like a reliable partner waiting for me. The parking lot had restrooms, changing rooms, and showers all arranged clearly. I put on my wetsuit, applied sunscreen, and ran to the beach with my surfboard. At that moment, I felt like a warrior about to head to the battlefield. At first, the coach led us in stretching on the beach. The sea breeze blew gently, and the waves happily lapped the shore, as if cheering us on. Then, the coach began to teach us surfing secrets, from theoretical knowledge to safety points, and even demonstrated cool surfing moves. Every word was like a key, opening the door to my longing for the surfing world. Finally, it was time to face the waves head-on! I couldn't wait to rush into the sea, but the waves were not so easy to tame. Time and again, I was mercilessly knocked over, like a drowned rat. But every time I fell, I was more eager to stand up again. When I first successfully stood on the surfboard and rode the waves, the feeling of riding the wind and waves made my blood boil, as if I were the master of the ocean. During my two days in Raglan, I was like a person possessed, constantly chasing the waves. Every wave was a gift from nature, unique and challenging. When I set foot on this land, I was instantly conquered by its unique seaside charm. Among the many surfing schools, I chose Green Wave Raglan. I signed up for a weekend package with two classes, each lasting 3 hours. The school provides all the equipment, so you only need to bring a swimsuit and towel to start your surfing journey. Due to the weather and tides, class times may change slightly, so confirm your reservation in advance through the contact information on the official website to make your trip more secure. The surfing location is Ngarunui Beach, and the school's truck is already waiting in the parking lot. The facilities here are complete, with toilets, changing rooms, and showers. After changing into your gear, you can walk to the beach with your colorful surfboard, feeling more and more excited. The class begins with the coach leading us in a circle to stretch. Accompanied by the sound of the waves, we immerse ourselves in the healing embrace of nature. Then, the coach patiently explains the theory and safety knowledge on the beach and demonstrates the riding movements for us to practice. Once we are ready, everyone rushes to the waves. Although I was knocked over by the waves and fell into the water many times during the first class, the 4 or 5 times I successfully stood up were unforgettable. Every time I stood on the crest of a wave, time seemed to stand still, and the sense of accomplishment from conquering the waves was indescribable. Each group is equipped with two coaches who take turns helping us push the board and experience the wonderful moment of catching a wave. When the coach helped me successfully ride the crest of a wave, I fell in love with this sport. In Raglan, every wave is unique. Standing on the waves feels like embracing the world. This weekend, in this summer-style town, I rode the waves and gained a lot of joy and unforgettable memories.
