Just a quick 40-minute trip from downtown Tokyo, you'll find "Tokyo German Village" in Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture. This sprawling flower and nature theme park covers a massive hilly area roughly the size of 16 Tokyo Domes. The founder gave it this name because the Sodegaura countryside reminded him of his beloved rural landscapes of Germany, and the opening of the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line made it incredibly accessible from Tokyo. This year, the park is celebrating its 25th anniversary! To mark the occasion, they're hosting tons of events and special programs, but the main attraction is definitely this flower garden—the largest in the park's history, bursting with 260,000 colorful tulips. They'll be in full bloom all throughout April. Starting in mid-May at the park's "Irodori no Oka" (Hill of Colors), an absolutely breathtaking flower field reminiscent of Munchkinland from the movie "Wicked" is set to make an appearance. Of course, seasonal blooms brighten up the park all year round, and in the spring, you can also enjoy stunning fields of moss phlox (shibazakura) and Livingston daisies. Another major draw of the park is the chance to get up close and personal with all sorts of animals! You can hang out with pups at "Doggy World," pet adorable critters at the "Children's Zoo," check out rare global species at the "World Insect & Reptile Kingdom," cuddle soft little animals at the "World Fluffy Kingdom," and interact with exotic marine life from around the globe at the "World Petting Aquarium." True to its name, Tokyo German Village also serves up some fantastic authentic German eats. You can dig into traditional German dishes, fresh-baked Baumkuchen (a classic German pastry), warm pretzels, and, of course, German beer! On top of all that, you can try your hand at seasonal fruit picking or play a round on one of the Kanto region's largest putt-putt golf courses. Finally, one of the best perks of this park is that you can actually drive your own car right through it. In fact, since there aren't any shuttle buses inside, it's pretty tough to get around without a vehicle. As long as you don't exit the gates, you can loop around the park as many times as you like, making it easy to spend a whole day soaking up the fun. Tokyo Doitsumura one of the Huge Family Park here in Japan or they called “Country Farm Tokyo German Village” is full of factors that allow visitors to enjoy rich nature. Located at Sodegaura city in Chiba. To my surprises, it’s so large that you can move by car! In the theme park brimming with seasonal flowers, visitors can spend a time playing and doing whatever they want, such as playing outdoor obstacle courses and riding a Ferris wheel and mini roller coaster, experiencing of harvesting vegetables and fruits and contacting with animals.If you want to visit this best paradise shoot like that between end-March and end-April. Getting There - Take the Uchibo line at Kisarazu station, and transfer to bus at Sodegaura station. It takes about 40 mins. 📍Sakura Furusato Square This spot is open 24/7, and these photos were taken during my early morning visit at 7 AM. The windmill gave off total Netherlands vibes and was absolutely adorable! Parking is free, and I highly recommend going early in the morning to beat the crowds. It's a bit tricky to get there by public transit, so definitely take a car. 📍Tokyo German Village Just a 1-hour drive from Sakura Furusato Square. I got in at 9:30 AM, but it was already pretty packed. Besides tulips, there are blooming dahlias and even an amusement park, making it the perfect spot for a full day of fun. 📅 Travel Itinerary Review Day 1 After meeting up, we headed into Chiba via the Aqua Line. Along the way, we stopped at Umihotaru PA for lunch overlooking the ocean. It was a truly memorable scenic stop during our drive. Afterwards, we visited Yoro Valley, where we admired the waterfalls and relaxed in a foot bath. Surrounded by nature, we refreshed ourselves and soothed our travel fatigue. In the evening, we checked into our accommodation, Sea Saw. We enjoyed a BBQ for dinner and played board games late into the night. We ended the day in a harmonious atmosphere. Day 2 In the morning, we started our morning with a dip in the lodging's outdoor barrel sauna. Feeling the ocean breeze while enjoying the sauna experience was a special and truly luxurious experience. Afterwards, we headed to Ohara Fishing Port, just a 10-minute walk from the lodging. The breakfast, featuring fresh seafood from the fishing port, was exceptional, and some items are available in limited quantities. If you're planning on visiting, we recommend arriving early. For lunch, we stopped off at Tokyo German Village for a heated game of putt-putt golf. It was a fun and easy activity, perfect for a group trip. On the way back, we stopped off at a roadside station and browsed for local souvenirs. It was the perfect way to end our trip. 🏨 Accommodation ・Sea Saw The location and facilities were excellent, and the owner was very attentive and welcoming, making for a relaxing stay. The BBQ facilities and barrel sauna were a great way to liven up a group trip, greatly enhancing our overall satisfaction. 🍴 Food Spots ・Umihotaru PA: Enjoying a meal with an ocean view is a special experience. ・Ohara Fishing Port: Abundant fresh seafood.
