Surviving the Icy Tundra: Discover the Resilience and Endurance of South Georgia's Admirable Penguins!
The penguins of South Georgia are a hardy bunch. They live in one of the harshest environments on Earth, where temperatures can drop to -50 degrees Celsius and the wind can blow at 100 miles per hour. But these penguins are tough, and they’ve found a way to survive in this icy wasteland.
Penguins also have a special layer of fat called blubber that helps to keep them warm. Blubber is a great insulator, and it also stores energy that penguins can use to stay warm when food is scarce.
So next time you’re feeling cold, just remember the penguins of South Georgia. They’re braving the blizzard, and they’re doing it with a smile on their faces.

Ballestas Islands Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Traveling in Peru||Lima went out to see the sea lion
before watching the BBC documentary, and learned that 500,000 cockroaches lived on the coastline of Peru, accounting for 1/4 of this variety. When you arrive in Lima, you can't miss Bird Island. You can see the flying dragonfly and the penguins from the pier, and the other sea lions are beyond my expectations. It is almost what I saw in my life. The sum of sea lions. If the weather is not strong, you can go to the sea to play with them.
The scheduled trip is a three-hour trip to the sea. At 10:00 in the morning, the penguin sea lion can see it. The tour includes swimming with sea lions, and friends who want to go into the water remember to wear swimsuits.
Tips:
1The traffic in Lima is very bad. It is recommended to book a taxi one day earlier
2Self-prepared seasickness medicine
3In fact, the sea lion is a bit stinky, and it is psychologically prepared to swim in the water.

Easter Island Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
While visiting my son in Chile I had the opportunity to fly to Easter Island and see the Moai! They are huge and amazing to view. It’s hard to imagine how ancient people were able to move them from the quarry without modern machines. Easter Island itself is a wonderful tropical getaway. I’m glad the I had the opportunity to visit and it’s a place I’d love to go again!

I dont have much hope for the weather on the island, but I can see the blue sky and white clouds through the window the next day.
changed yesterday's wind and rain, today's sunny gives a hint of accident, sleep to wake up naturally, I suddenly found that the town is almost empty, the tourists who stayed for one day yesterday, have been scattered all over the island, I quickly find A place to eat, after a casual breakfast, went to the town center, according to the information I visited yesterday, went directly to the largest car rental, I have to take such a good weather, come to Easter Island self-driving tour.
Yes, I am driving by myself!
Automobile is a rare species on the island. Even if I find the largest rental car, I only rented a manual small off-road, 450 RMB a day. I can reach the island with a car. In all the areas that I want to go to, there is only one small gas station on the island on the avenue outside the airport. I load all the gadgets I can take pictures in the car, go to the nearby supermarket to buy a bunch of snacks, go to the gas station to line up and refuel. I started my round-the-island tour.
If you dont zoom in and out, I wont find Easter Island from a deep blue sea. All the stones on the island are all dark brown volcanic magma formed by the sun. The road with the best road conditions has been driven far away. When you see the signpost and take a glance, you can achieve a comfortable self-driving tour. The small cross-country can't be opened quickly, up to 70 yards, but even the farthest place can be used for an hour. .

Exploring the Enigmatic Easter Island
Easter Island, known locally as Rapa Nui, is one of the most isolated inhabited islands in the world, situated in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. It is famed for its mysterious moai, massive stone statues that have intrigued visitors and scholars for centuries. This remote Chilean territory offers a profound glimpse into the ancient Polynesian culture and its remarkable achievements in megalithic sculpture and environmental adaptation.
What to Expect
Visitors to Easter Island will find a landscape dominated by volcanic craters, rugged coastlines, and rolling grasslands, where the silent moai stand guard. With nearly 900 statues scattered across the island, these monumental figures are a testament to the ingenuity and mystery of the island's early inhabitants. The Rano Raraku quarry, where most of the moai were carved, provides insight into how these colossal statues were made, while Ahu Tongariki, the largest ceremonial platform on the island, showcases 15 restored moai in a breathtaking lineup against the ocean backdrop.
Experiences and Recommendations
A guided tour is invaluable for understanding the historical and cultural context of the moai and other archaeological sites. Hiking the island's trails offers not only health benefits but also access to less-visited moai and stunning panoramic views. Watching the sunrise at Ahu Tongariki is an unforgettable experience, where the play of light and shadow brings the statues to life. For a deeper understanding of Rapa Nui culture, visit during the Tapati Rapa Nui festival, a vibrant celebration of local music, dance, and traditional sports.
Tips and Tricks
The most practical times to visit Easter Island are during the warmer months from December to March, although the weather is generally mild year-round. Flights typically connect through Santiago, Chile, and it’s wise to book several months in advance. Lightweight, breathable clothing is suitable for the island's climate, and sun protection is essential due to the strong UV rays. Being respectful of the moai and other cultural sites is crucial; these are sacred artifacts for the Rapa Nui people.
