Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort (Adults Only) Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Cook Islands 🇨🇰
The Cook Islands are located in the Polynesian islands of the South Pacific, consisting of 15 islands. It is a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand, known as the "fruit garden of the South Pacific". It has typical South Pacific tropical scenery and is a famous tourist destination in Oceania.
Aitutaki Island is the earliest island in the Cook Islands that Western missionaries set foot on.
Currently, on the island, there is still a Christian church built in 1823 by the missionaries who first arrived on Aitutaki Island. The entire church is mainly constructed of coral rock.
The lagoon of Attu Island is triangular in shape, with an area of approximately 18 square kilometers. The highest mountain on the island is Mount Moffett.
The economy is mainly based on tourism, fishing, black pearl farming, and offshore finance.
Raro Reef Sub Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Just arrived back this week from 7 nights at Edgewater in Raro. Had such a great time. Captain Tamas was fantastic. Definitely recommend that tour. If you’re looking for some free entertainment, highly recommend the fire-night at Vaianas by the airport. Great beachfront bar where you can take your togs, have a swim and a drink or dinner then stay for the fire dancers or live band (depending on the night). The food is great and reasonably priced.
On our last night we stumbled across Mai’i cafe near Muri and were so surprised by that amazing food we were gutted we hadn’t found it sooner. Local options as well as great pizzas, curry’s, kebabs etc. good prices too!
And for a sweet treat, you won’t regret BodyFuel in town- hands down the best (and biggest) chocolate brownie ever!! 🤤
The best coffee I found on the island was from Kai & co. in town, right next to Ollie’s surf gear and BodyFuel. They do a flat white better than most NZ cafes
Lastly, Ollie’s surf gear, stopped in purely for the lovely owners who were awesome to chat to and then ended up watching Ollie at work and had to get a piece of his amazing work. He airbrushes personalised hats, so awesome to watch and a great souvenir. They also do cute little temporary tattoo stamps for kids for $1

One Foot Island Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
One Foot Island.
We went to One Foot Island and did the Bishop Cruise twice! It was really a great experience to see the island twice!
One Foot Island is an incredibly beautiful place! I went there twice during my stay in Aitutaki. It's very chilly, the water is amazing, clear and blue, and if it doesn't rain, the sun is great and the beauty is astonishing! I highly recommend getting your passport stamped and taking a break from everything on this small island!
The cruise was amazing, but the staff really did it - first it was Barry and Kimi, and the second time it was Barry and Mata - so fun, and they put an amazing spread on One Foot - fresh salads, fresh fish
- As you call it, we had it! For the first time, Barry went diving for the fresh fish we had the luxury to have for lunch! The island is beautiful, and there is a beautiful cat named Tory who loves tasting the food made by Barry, Kimi, and Mata! The scenery there is amazing, the water is so clear, and the weather was perfect!
