Croatia is a coastal zone, you can reach The Old Port, you can see a beautiful harbor around, so that there are many large yachts 🛥️ docked, very lively! 🔥
The port offers some of Dubrovnik’s most famous mountain city buildings, as well as a calm sea with many yachts and boats moored, forming a postcard🎑-like landscape!
Near the old port, there are also many boat trip stalls, you can 😌 choose one to join the sunset cruise, also a great experience!
War Museum: Dubrovnik's Tragic Past
📍 Museum of the Croatian War of Independence
Dubrovnik HR, Srđ ul. 2, 20207, Mlini, Croatia
Located at the summit of Mount Srđ, which offers a panoramic view of Dubrovnik, the Museum of the Croatian War of Independence stands as a solemn reminder of the city's turbulent history.
After Tito's death, several nations within the former Yugoslavia sought independence. Slovenia, with a predominantly Slovenian population, managed to conclude its war of independence in just 10 days. However, Croatia faced a prolonged and intense conflict due to its significant Serbian population. Dubrovnik became one of the major battlegrounds against the Serbian and Montenegrin forces, resulting in devastating consequences between 1991 and 1995: at least 14,000 lives lost, 2,500 cultural landmarks damaged, and 220,000 homes destroyed.
This museum serves as a poignant reminder of the time when Dubrovnik's breathtaking scenery was listed as a "World Heritage Site in Danger." It compels visitors to reflect on the city's resilience and the importance of preserving its history.

Dubrovnik - possibly the most beautiful walled city in the world?
Setting off from Montenegro, we were treated to some breathtaking views along the way. We only had a few hours to stop over and see Dubrovnik before carrying on to Bosnia and Herzegovina, so would the trip be worth it?
The first thing I noticed when arriving at the city was the crowds. This place is popular which makes it busy.
But when you enter through the gates of the city walls, which were built in the 13th century, you are in the Main Street of Old Town and you can see why Dubrovnik Old Town is such a popular destination.
Known as Stradun, this beautiful street is paved in limestone and is flanked by fountains and bell towers. In between, you’ll find exquisite Venetian buildings which house shops and restaurants. Look out for the many alleyways that splinter off this street. It’s full of character and wonder. It’s no surprise that many films and tv shows, such as Game of Thrones, have chosen this city as a filming location.
Don’t be under any illusions that Dubrovnik is a cheap place to eat. This meal cost between 15 and 20 euros, and that seems standard for restaurants within the old town. But it was a good quality meal and the views and ambience are second to none.
So that you can really get the most out of your visit to Old Town, I would recommend joining a walking tour.
Make sure you stop by Onofrio’s fountain for a pit stop and to fill up your water bottle. The water is safe to drink!
Now, you may be wondering, what about the famous walls of Dubrovnik? Are they worth visiting? If you’re here for just a few hours like I was, I don’t think so. You can see plenty by exploring the old town and by walking around the outside of the walls. You’ll see old forts and the beautiful architecture of the many gates into the city.
You can even stop for a bit of kayaking just off the coast, and take in the views of Old Town from the sea. But if you’re here for a few days, then I’d say touring the walls is well worth it. Tickets cost €35 and that includes entrance to many of the museums and palaces within the city.

View of Dubrovnik harbour
There are many ships parked in the port of Dubrovnik, right next to the Dubrovnik Fortress, but you can walk along the walls and the view of the ships parked there is very impressive.
If you walk along the walls, you will find a beach, so it is recommended to bring a swimsuit.
There is also a tour ferry to Lokrum Island from here, which costs 20 euros round trip and departs once every 30 minutes.

Dubrovnik beaches introduction
Dubrovnik is famous for its castle, but it also has a few beaches, so I'll introduce them to you.
This beach is right next to the fortress. It's nice to be able to go into the sea while looking at the fortress walls.
You can also rent a canoe.
It's close to the fortress, so there are a lot of people, but it's so hot in the summer that it can get up to 40 degrees, so it feels good to go into the sea!
Bring your swimsuit and snorkeling gear from Japan.

Walking around Dubrovnik
I walked around the city of Dubrovnik.
The area inside the walls is large enough that you can walk around in 2 hours.
There are many things to see inside the walls, such as souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes, and churches.
You can of course stay inside the walls, but you can also go outside and look at the castle from the outside. If you get tired of walking, you can relax on the beach.
However, prices are very high. What's with a hotel dormitory costing 50 euros a night! !

Morning Serenity: A Family Stroll at Uvala Lapad Beach
#familytravel
Our family's early morning walk at Uvala Lapad Beach was a truly unforgettable experience! As the sun rose over the calm waters, we strolled along the picturesque shoreline, taking in the tranquil atmosphere. The kids enjoyed exploring the beach's hidden coves and rocky outcroppings, while my wife and I savored the peacefulness of the moment.
With its crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and stunning scenery, Uvala Lapad Beach is a must-visit destination for families seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Our morning walk here will forever be etched in our memories as a perfect blend of serenity and natural beauty.

Fort Bokar
Fort Bokar is a fortress located at the southwest corner of the Old City of Dubrovnik, overlooking Pile Harbor and Fort Lovrijenac. In Game of Thrones, Tyrion and Varys overlook Blackwater Bay from the walls of King's Landing and discuss how to fight Stannis' fleet. This scene was filmed here. Jaime and Cersei also look out from the walls of King's Landing at the Iron Fleet brought by Euron to reinforce King's Landing. This scene was also filmed here.

Unwind with a breathtaking sunset on Vis Beach, Croatia’s hidden gem!
#summerdestinations As the sun sets over Vis Beach in Croatia, the scene transforms into an enchanting spectacle of colors. The private beach becomes a serene retreat as the sky is painted in vibrant shades of orange, pink, and purple, reflecting off the crystal-clear waters. The tranquil atmosphere is enhanced by the gentle lapping of waves and the soft, warm glow of the evening light. Secluded and intimate, Vis Beach offers an unparalleled escape from the everyday hustle, allowing you to soak in the breathtaking beauty of nature’s canvas. With the sun dipping below the horizon, the tranquil ambiance invites you to relax, reflect, and savor the serene moment. It’s a perfect end to a day in paradise, wrapped in the embrace of Croatia’s stunning coastal charm.
I scream for the ice cream!
#summerdestinations Savoring gelato in Dubrovnik is an experience that delights both the palate and the senses. On a warm summer day, the rich, creamy texture of artisanal gelato offers a refreshing escape from the Mediterranean heat. As you stroll through the charming streets of the Old Town, each flavor—whether it’s tangy lemon, luscious pistachio, or decadent chocolate—carries a burst of sweetness that complements the vibrant atmosphere around you. The gelato’s coolness contrasts beautifully with the sunlit stone facades and the azure sea in the background. With each indulgent bite, you not only relish a delicious treat but also embrace the essence of Dubrovnik’s relaxed, joyful spirit. It’s a simple yet unforgettable pleasure that perfectly captures the city’s enchanting charm.
History comes alive here right after sunset!
#summerdestinations At sunset during the summer, Dubrovnik's old port transforms into a breathtaking canvas of colors. The golden hues of the setting sun reflect off the tranquil waters, creating a mesmerizing glow that bathes the ancient stone walls and historic buildings in a warm, amber light. The serene ambiance is enhanced by the soft evening breeze and the vibrant palette of pinks, oranges, and purples that dance across the sky. The bustling port, with its charming boats and lively atmosphere, becomes a picturesque haven of peace and beauty. As twilight settles in, the twinkling lights of the port and the surrounding city create a magical contrast against the deepening sky, making it a perfect moment to savor the allure and timeless elegance of Dubrovnik.
Visit the Blue Cave in Dubrovnik!
The blue cave in Dubrovnik is quite a sight. You can easily book a half day tour at any of the travel desks in old towns. Have your swimsuit on, jump in from your boat and swim into the cave. If you’re a weak swimmer, ask for a life vest or floaties from the skipper.
Downtown Dubrovnik...
When you visit Dubrovnik, you usually focus on the Old Town, but if you have time, I recommend going downtown to experience the life of real Croatians.
The cost of living is much cheaper, and there are many delicious things to enjoy.
The city center, formed around shopping malls, also has a bus terminal for transferring to other regions.
The new city center is a popular place for both tourists and locals, and at night, various cultural events and performances are held. Dubrovnik's new city center is a wonderful place where you can experience both the historical value of the city and modern conveniences.
Dubrovnik port...
#EuropeanTravel #poratdubrovnik #Croatia #Dubrovnik
In the old port of the ancient city of Dubrovnik, tourists can take a yacht cruise on the river!
The boat ride takes about 30 minutes, and you can mainly rotate in the nearby sea, admire the ancient city and the surrounding scenery, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze.
And I like the evening lights and atmosphere with restaurants and leisurely vacationers. Small tourist ships and historical pirate ships sail to the surrounding islands.
A place you must stop by when passing through the old town.. A place where you can rest and enjoy the cool breeze.
Autumn at Velika and Mala Petka Park 🗺️
#fallingseason
My autumn visit to Velika and Mala Petka Forest Park was a tranquil and captivating experience. It's a haven for nature enthusiasts.
In the fall, the forest park is transformed into a mesmerizing canvas. The trees display their vibrant coats of red and gold, creating a picturesque setting. The crisp air, the rustling of leaves underfoot, and the serene ambiance make it an ideal place for long walks, picnics, and enjoying the changing seasons.
The park features well-maintained hiking trails, charming wooden bridges, and a sense of tranquility that envelops visitors. The breathtaking views from the elevated vantage points add to its charm.
Exploring Velika and Mala Petka Forest Park in autumn is like immersing oneself in a natural wonderland. It's a serene escape, a place to reconnect with nature, and an excellent way to savor the beauty of the changing seasons. It's a must-visit for those seeking tranquility and the allure of the natural landscape. #autumn #croatia #park #forest
