Lofoten E10 Highway Scenery (Part 1)
A small car journeying along Norway's Lofoten E10 from Hessand Beach to Tjeldsundbrua unveils breathtaking views all the way.
📍Hessand Beach is typically a spot for locals or self-driving travelers to camp. The beach features fine sand and a series of small rocky sandbars.
📍The clouds are pure white, hanging very low, almost like a jade ribbon swirling above your head. Such a view is worth capturing instantly.
📍The sea water displays a mesmerizing range of colors, shifting between deep blue, light blue, and grassy green.
📍Tjeldsundbrua Bridge spans the Tjeldsundet Strait, stretching over 1,000 meters. Crossing the bridge today revealed a surprising 5-degree temperature difference between its two ends—truly fascinating.

Harstad – Where Arctic Light Meets Northern Serenity
#cityplaybook
#familytrip #localguides
Harstad wasn’t on my original travel list, but it quickly became one of the most memorable stops on my northern Norway journey. Located in the Troms region, this coastal town combines dramatic Arctic landscapes with rich Viking heritage—and it offers a quieter, more intimate experience than more touristy destinations.
My visit began with a walk along the harbor, where colorful boats rocked gently against a backdrop of snow-dusted mountains. The light here is something else—especially in late spring and summer. Whether it's the golden hue of the midnight sun or the soft pastels of a winter morning, Harstad is bathed in natural magic.
One of my favorite experiences was visiting Trondenes Historical Center and the Trondenes Church, which dates back to the 13th century. The views from this spot are extraordinary—rolling hills, fjords, and a peaceful sense of timelessness.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, Harstad offers easy access to hiking trails, especially on Grytøya Island and around Keipen Mountain. I took a short hike near Folkeparken, where locals go for nature walks, skiing, and picnics. Even in colder months, the crisp air and peaceful forests made it worth every step.
Best Time to Visit:
May to August for the midnight sun and lush greenery.
October to March for northern lights viewing and snowy scenery.
Helpful Tips:
Rent a car if you can—many beautiful hiking areas and viewpoints are just outside town.
Try Arctic char or reindeer stew at a local restaurant.
If visiting in winter, dress warmly—the wind chill can be strong near the sea.

Magnificent Aurora Sighting for the 1st time
Unforgettable night at Harstad, Norway. Spotted the most beautiful aurora at a dark huge carpark spot. What to do if you would like to see the prettiest aurora. Remember to find an extremely dark spot. Best with no street lights. Wear warm clothes & bring snacks. While waiting in the wild could be quite cold.
We were jumping with joy and taken so many nice photos! We waited for about an hour.
Magical! 🧡
