2025 Ho Chi Minh City Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)
Ho Chi Minh City was formerly known as Saigon. It is one of Vietnam's liveliest cities and a hub for commerce and culture. This place has all kinds of classically elegant French buildings. You will feel almost as if you are in Paris. Apart from the sightseeing tours of places like the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, the Ho Chi Minh City Hall, and the Saigon Opera House, you can witness more grand French-style architecture off the beaten path by visiting the Central Post Office and mail a postcard. At the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum, you can learn about Vietnam's more recent history, take a boat trip along the Mekong River, or enjoy a cup of Vietnamese coffee in an old French-style café. Phạm Ngũ Lão Street is very quiet and peaceful during daylight hours. Once night falls, however, this place comes alive. Not only an excellent place to enjoy the city's nightlife, it is also a favorite place for backpackers to stay.

Charming Corners of Ho Chi Minh City
#summervacay
Ho Chi Minh City surprised us with its mix of culture, colors, and charm. We started our day at the pink church (Tan Dinh Church) bright, unique and impossible to miss. Then we wandered into Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, lined with cozy shops and little cafés where locals quietly read and sip coffee.
The nearby Ben Thanh Market was full of energy with local snacks, handmade crafts, and friendly sellers calling out as we passed. Later, we found a peaceful spot by Turtle Lake, where we sat for a while and watched the city slow down.
Every corner had something to see a mix of old, new and truly local. It was a fun and colorful day in the heart of the city.

Ola Hale Café – The Cutest Spot with Pink Church Views in Ho Chi Minh City
If you’re on the hunt for a dreamy, Instagram-worthy café in Ho Chi Minh City, look no further than Ola Hale Café — the ultimate spot to get those perfect pink church shots.
📍Located just across from the famous Tan Dinh Church (aka the iconic Pink Church), Ola Hale Café is a pastel paradise in itself. With three beautifully designed levels, the café offers direct views of the church from nearly every floor — but the top floor is the real gem. Head up to the third level for the best angle to snap those magical photos with the church in the background.
🌸 The interior of the café is just as cute — filled with soft pinks, clean whites, tropical plants, and cozy seating. It’s the kind of place where every corner is made for content. Whether you’re a coffee lover, a photo enthusiast, or just want to chill somewhere aesthetic, this spot delivers.
☕ Drinks-wise, the menu features everything from classic coffees to trendy drinks and cakes. Honestly, you’re here more for the view than the flavor, but it’s a nice place to relax, cool off, and enjoy the vibe.
📸 Tips for the best photo: Go in the morning or late afternoon for softer lighting. And don’t forget to head upstairs for that gorgeous top-down shot of the Pink Church — it’s what this café is known for!
So if you’re café hopping in Ho Chi Minh or looking to add something sweet and scenic to your summer vacation itinerary, make sure to stop by Ola Hale Café. Come for the pink vibes, stay for the views, and leave with the prettiest photos.

Cafe Hopping in Ho Chi Minh – Don’t Miss These Two Insta-Worthy Spots!
If you’re planning a trip to Ho Chi Minh City and love hunting for beautiful cafes, you’re in for a treat. The city is full of hidden gems, but two spots that totally stood out for me are Cafe Sân Vườn Miền Thảo Mộc and Oasis Garden Cafe. Whether you’re into nature-inspired interiors, good coffee, or just want to update your Instagram feed — these two are a must-visit.
🌿 Cafe Sân Vườn Miền Thảo Mộc
Stepping into this cafe feels like escaping the city and entering a secret herbal garden. The name literally means “Herbal Garden Café,” and it lives up to that vibe. Think lush greenery, calming vibes, and a space that smells subtly like lemongrass and flowers. It’s the perfect place to slow down, take aesthetic photos, and sip on a refreshing herbal tea or Vietnamese coffee. Bonus — the natural lighting here is chef’s kiss for your IG shots!
🌸 Oasis Garden Cafe
If you’re looking for a more colorful, dreamy spot, Oasis Garden Cafe is like something straight out of a storybook. With flower walls, pink tones, whimsical décor, and cozy seating areas, it’s no surprise that this place is super popular with cafe hoppers. It’s got that Instagrammable atmosphere where every corner is photo-worthy — plus, the drinks and desserts are as pretty as they are tasty!
💡 Tip: Come earlier in the day for good lighting and fewer crowds, so you can take your time getting those perfect snaps.
📸 So if you’re planning to café hop through Ho Chi Minh City on your next trip, definitely add these two to your list. They’re not just beautiful — they also give you a little escape from the hustle of the city.
☀️ Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or on a romantic getaway, Ho Chi Minh’s cafe scene makes for a perfect summer vacation experience. Coffee, vibes, and cute corners — what more could you ask for?

A Down-to-Earth MICHELIN Guide Spot You’ll Love in HCMC
If you’re after authentic Vietnamese food in a place that feels like grandma’s house — but cozier and cooler — you’ve got to check out Cục Gạch Quán.
Tucked away in District 1, this MICHELIN Bib Gourmand gem isn’t flashy, but that’s the charm. It’s all about warm wooden tables, vintage decor, and home-style dishes that taste like comfort. Think claypot fish, crispy tofu with lemongrass, and sweet lotus tea to wrap it all up.
It’s the kind of place where you sit down and instantly feel at home — even if it’s your first time in Vietnam. Perfect for a relaxed lunch or a special dinner that still feels low-key. Highly recommend!

Ho Chi Minh Hamburger Steak Highly Recommended Kyumaru🍻
Is this quality real in Vietnam?
Ho Chi Minh District 1 Hamburger Restaurant ‘Kyumaru’ – Highly recommended for business travelers!
📍 Address: Central District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
🕐 Business hours: 11:00 – 22:00 (Closed days may vary)
💳 Payment: Cards accepted
💰 Price range:
• 120g – 220K VND
• 170g – 260K VND
• 220g – 300K VND
---
🔍 Summary in three lines
1) Interior that feels like you’re in Japan and clean interior hygiene
2) Hamburger & Chicken Nanban set is especially popular
3) Slightly higher price compared to Vietnam’s prices, but the quality is worth it!
---
🍽️ Detailed review
1️⃣ Atmosphere & interior
Full of ‘Japanese sensibility’ from the entrance to the inside of the store. The interior is neatly organized and the cleanliness is excellent, so I liked it from the first impression. It's the perfect space if you want to really feel the 'Japanese feeling' during your business trip.
2️⃣ Menu & Composition
I ordered the Hamburger & Chicken Nanban Set - 170g hamburger with rice, so it was really filling.
The harmony of the meat texture, soy sauce, and crispy chicken nanban were all perfectly combined.
"It was so satisfying that it even tasted better than the hamburger I had in Japan."
3️⃣ Cost-effectiveness
Of course, it's a little pricey compared to local Vietnamese food, but this level of quality is enough to justify it! I highly recommend this to business travelers or travelers.

Come to Ho Chi Minh Coffee Apartment for a cup of coffee!
💞Recommendation reason:
Coffee Apartment is the most artistic attraction in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is an old apartment in the downtown area of Ho Chi Minh City. There are dozens of coffee shops from the first floor to the ninth floor. Each of them has a unique style and is also a very popular check-in spot on Instagram. I was burned by the reports on the Internet long before I set off. I was very curious about Ho Chi Minh City, a city that is both European and Southeast Asian. In addition, coffee is a specialty of Vietnam. Of course, I have to take advantage of the four-day and three-night Ho Chi Minh City free trip to visit Coffee Apartment!
Coffee Apartment is located on Nguyen Hue Street. It is within walking distance of attractions such as the Financial Tower, City Hall, and the Grand Theater. At night, it will present a different style due to the lighting. It is recommended to go there in the evening, choose a favorite coffee shop, and enjoy the scenery until the store closes.
💰Per capita consumption:
There is a public elevator inside the apartment. It costs 3,000 VND to take a trip. You can ask the consumer for a refund by leaving a receipt.
It is recommended to pay to take the elevator to the ninth floor, the highest building, and then slowly walk down one floor at a time. After finding a cafe you like, you can ask the store for a refund for the elevator fee. If you are good at climbing stairs, you can also save 3,000 VND and take the stairs directly.

The Most Beautiful Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City! 🤩 Experience Unique Vietnamese-French Charm! 🇻🇳🇫🇷
#summervacay
In my heart, the Park Hyatt Saigon is the must-stay hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (at least for now!). It truly offers an unparalleled experience! ✨
First off, the service is absolutely impeccable. Every time you get a taxi, there's a doorman to open and close the door for you and handle your bags. 💼 When you check in, they give you a fantastic rundown of things to do, eat, and drink in Ho Chi Minh City. I even asked about places to buy clothes in Vietnam, and they meticulously took note, looked it up, and sent someone to deliver the information right to my room! How thoughtful is that?! 🤯 Even the elevators have dedicated attendants monitoring them – every time we wanted to go back to our room, the elevator was already open and waiting for us on the first floor! 🥳
The hotel's public areas are simply stunning! So beautiful, I swear I wanted to take 100 photos! 📸 They even have live piano and violin performances in the afternoons and evenings. 🎶 I particularly adored the hotel's flowers; the peonies were just exquisite! 🌸
Oh, and the pool is heated! Taking a swim in the afternoon was incredibly comfortable – and a great way to sneak in some exercise! 😉 The pool is 1.4 meters deep, which felt a bit different from the 1.2-meter pools I'm used to, but it was so comfortable, and you get to walk through a charming little garden to get to it. 🏊♀️🌿

The meat is grilled outside by staff and brought to your table, ensuring a 'no-smell' dining experience. This system, similar to that of Gyeongbokgung, is convenient and clean.
The side dishes, including soybean paste stew and ramen, are authentically Korean, adding to the overall satisfaction.

After enjoying a Vietnamese-style massage, why not dive into some street food for a late-night snack?
Ho Chi Minh City’s nights have a magical way of slowly unfolding✨
At Sen Trắng Spa, I indulged in a full Vietnamese ritual with an aromatic oil massage that left me feeling completely relaxed, as if I had been rebooted🔋💆♀️
Then, I strolled through the alleys of the night market, sipping on Saigon beer, savoring authentic seafood, and waiting for stir-fried dishes to be served at a metal table—everything felt just perfect! 🍺🦐🍚

🍽️ Detailed review
When you miss Korean pork belly in Ho Chi Minh City,
the place where you can truly feel the elegance of Korean food is ‘Gyeongbokgung’.
The moment you open the door to the restaurant and enter, it feels like you’ve entered a traditional Korean cultural center.
The interior is full of traditional Korean beauty from the lighting to the furniture and every single prop,
and I was especially impressed by the use of bangjjayugi tableware.
The menu I ordered was pork belly.
The special thing about this place is that you don’t have to grill the meat yourself,
but the system is to grill the meat outside the room and bring it to you,
so there is less smell and you can focus on your meal, which was really convenient.
The meat was cooked just right, and the staff even had the sense to refill it at the right time.
The side dishes were as varied and neat as a Korean restaurant.
It was a meal that left a stronger impression of ‘being treated well’ than ‘having a good meal.’

A luxurious 5-star hotel in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City 🌴✨
❝Mia Saigon Luxury Boutique Hotel❞
As it was my first time visiting Ho Chi Minh City, I was quite worried about choosing the right accommodation. However, as soon as I arrived at the hotel, I thought, 'I made the perfect choice!' 🧡
Before my visit, I had mentioned in the request that I was coming to celebrate a special occasion. Upon entering the room, I was greeted with a beautiful garland, roses, and even a homemade cream cheese cake. It made me so happy right from the start, and I’ll never forget that feeling 🥰
From the service to the facilities and cleanliness, everything was impeccable. If I visit Ho Chi Minh City again, I’ll definitely choose this hotel without hesitation! Although the accommodation price was slightly higher compared to other places in Ho Chi Minh City, I never felt it was money wasted during my stay. ദി◍•ᴗ•◍)

Tan Dinh Market in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
💞Recommended Reason: Most markets in Vietnam are quite similar, offering dried fruits, nuts, bags, and clothing! Bargaining is part of the fun—if you can negotiate the price down by half, you'll leave with plenty of goodies! Typically, items cost around 400-500 New Taiwan Dollars, leaving you with extra budget to enjoy more French baguettes and bowls of pho.
🗓️Suggested Duration: 1-1.5 hours
🕰️Opening Hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Ho Chi Minh City Pizza 4P’s: A pizza-focused restaurant near the Japanese district.
This is a well-known pizza-centric restaurant in Vietnam. In addition to pizza, they also offer cheese fondue and pasta.
While there are multiple locations, this particular branch is close to the Japanese district and is especially popular among Japanese customers.
The interior is stylishly designed to resemble a cave, making it a highly recommended spot.
The restroom is very clean and well-stocked with amenities.

Must-Try Vietnamese Food in Ho Chi Minh City
If you're visiting Ho Chi Minh City, you must try the banh mi at HONG HOA! Vietnamese cuisine is truly delicious, and the most impressive dish for me was the banh mi. The bread is incredibly tasty, and it's packed with fillings like pâté and pork 🐷. Since I don't like cilantro, I asked them to leave it out. The shop might look a bit shabby and make you worry about hygiene, but trust me, it's absolutely delicious! You have to try it!
Another must-try is pho! I went to a local spot frequented by residents. Watching how locals eat, I noticed they added vegetables and some kind of sauce from the table to their pho, so I copied them—and it was delicious!
Later, I met up with friends and went for Vietnamese barbecue, which is apparently called bun cha. It's quite famous, so reservations are a must! Vietnamese barbecue is healthy and easy to eat. You dip the meat into a sour soup or sauce, which adds a unique flavor.
As for banh xeo and fresh spring rolls, I personally found them underwhelming. Maybe they taste better at other places! Be careful with banh xeo, though—it’s huge! 🤣
[Check before traveling to Ho Chi Minh!] 7 things to keep in mind to have a comfortable and safe stay there📌✨
Ho Chi Minh City, a big city in southern Vietnam, is attractive for its lively streets and delicious food!
However, there are some rules and precautions that are a little different from those in Japan.
To have a safe and enjoyable trip, here are some things you should keep in mind!
⸻
① Be careful of pickpockets and snatchers👛
In tourist areas and on streets with many motorbikes, the golden rule is to hold your bag in front of you and not put your smartphone on the road side!
Be especially careful at night and in crowded areas.
⸻
② There are practically no traffic lights!? 🚦
Crossing the road is thrilling... but don't panic.
If you walk slowly and at a constant speed, motorbikes will avoid you◎
⸻
③ Take a taxi to Vinasun or Mai Linh🚕
Use a reliable taxi company.
The Grab app is also convenient, but don't forget to check the fare!
⸻
④ Don't use tap water🚫
Use mineral water for brushing your teeth and gargling.
You can get it at convenience stores and hotels, so it's safe.
⸻
⑤ Carry small amounts of cash frequently 💵
Many stores do not accept credit cards, so it is convenient to carry small bills.
※Be careful of the number of zeros as there are many digits!
⸻
⑥ Toilet conditions vary 🚻
There may not be toilet paper. Bring pocket tissues with you for peace of mind ◎
⸻
⑦ Dress "cool and easy to move in" 👕
In Ho Chi Minh City, which is hot all year round, breathable clothes + a jacket are ◎
It is good manners to avoid exposing your skin at temples, etc.
⸻
A little preparation and mental preparation are important to stay safe and comfortable ✨
Enjoy the charm of Ho Chi Minh while feeling the local atmosphere!

📍 A Dreamy Day in Ho Chi Minh City!
My visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was nothing short of magical. The city is vibrant, colorful, and filled with warmth. I started my journey at Ben Thanh Market, where the local food stalls, bustling crowds, and endless shopping opportunities made it an unforgettable experience.
📸 Next, I visited the War Remnants Museum — a powerful place that offers a deep insight into Vietnam’s wartime history. It's emotional and educational at the same time.
📸 Then I explored the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and the Central Post Office. These French colonial buildings are stunning and incredibly photogenic — it felt like stepping into old Europe right in Asia!
📸 As evening fell, Bui Vien Walking Street came alive with lights, music, street food, and nonstop energy. It's the perfect place to end your day with fun and flavor.
Ho Chi Minh City is not just a destination, it's a feeling. For travelers who love culture, history, and nightlife — this city is a must-visit!

Hotels close to downtown Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
📍Address: Mai House Saigon Hotel
(1-3-5, Đ. Ngô Thời Nhiệm, Phường Võ Thị Sáu, Quận 3, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam)
💰Price: About NT$5,000 per night
🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities:
At that time, I booked the top room. The top room needs to be checked in separately on the top floor. When checking in, you can use the beverage bar for free, and there are also discount coupons for the bar at night.
The first sight of entering the hotel is very luxurious, with a spiral staircase in the middle and a large chandelier on the top. The overall room is clean, the decoration is very European and very good for taking pictures. Every corner is very good for taking pictures #Vietnam #VietnamHoChiMinhCity #HoChiMinhHotel
Packed Jam Day in Saigon
#cityplaybook
Ho Chi Minh City, once known as Saigon, is a dynamic city that perfectly captures Vietnam's spirit! I loved how it seamlessly blends its rich history with modern vibrancy.
Here's a peek at my HCMC highlights:
1️⃣ Vietnam Buddhist Temple: Such a serene escape! The stunning pagoda and calming energy made for a truly peaceful experience.
2️⃣ Takashimaya Vietnam Mall: A shopper's delight in District 1! The Japanese decor is lovely, and the variety of Japanese food is incredible.
3️⃣ Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee: This building is a photographer's dream with its incredible French architecture. I found 5 p.m. to be the perfect time to explore without the midday heat.
Thank you for joining my journey! Follow for more adventures! Bye!

🇻🇳 Not Bangkok‼️ Ho Chi Minh City District 1 Best Value Rooftop Pool Hotel✨
#Ho-kang-se #Ho-chi-minh-travel
🇻🇳 If you want to enjoy a rooftop pool in the middle of Ho Chi Minh City District 1
with great value for money?
📍M Village Hotel Tôn Thất Đạm
A rooftop pool full of Bangkok vibes,
and I enjoyed it privately because there were no people🙌🏻
It's a small place, but that's what makes it even better!
🛏️ The room is clean and spacious,
and when I booked a deluxe city view room, the night view was crazy🌃
What can I say about the night view of Ho Chi Minh City while lying in bed... 🫶🏻
💡 Rooms without windows can be small and stuffy, so I recommend a deluxe room or higher!
🚶♀️ The location is in the heart of District 1! Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square, and local markets are all within walking distance
There are many delicious restaurants nearby, and it's fun to browse the alley markets in the morning👍🏻
🤝 The staff are really friendly,
and I felt the attention to detail in each service✨
Above all, you can experience all of this at a great price!
💌 If you're looking for a place to rest in the city center while traveling in Ho Chi Minh,
I highly recommend this branch among the M Village series!
2 Unforgettable Rooftop in Ho Chi Minh
#postandearn #hochiminhcity #rooftop
If you are coming to Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, I can recommend 2 rooftop venues. The first one is Social Club Rooftop Bar with views of Ho Chi Minh City. The other is Chang Vang Rooftop, with a view of Landmark 81 and more places where people spend time.
Social Club Rooftop Bar
With city views, unobtrusive music, quality ambience, extensive drink menu and reasonable prices. The perfect place to watch the lights of the city at sunset.
Chang Vang Rooftop
Views of the river and Landmark 81. Some nights there's live music. Often a meeting point for local people.
Nam Me Kitchen & Bar
Nam Mê Kitchen & Bar, located at 7 Trần Văn Sắc (formerly Đường 44), Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Sài Gòn, is a Vietnamese restaurant that elevates Mekong cuisine through creative firewood grilling techniques.
The restaurant draws inspiration from early morning market journeys, crafting dishes that reflect the seasonal abundance of shrimp, fish, rice, and fresh produce. Guests can enjoy a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by thoughtfully curated flavors that highlight Vietnamese culinary traditions.
Nam Mê Kitchen & Bar offers a diverse menu, including options for vegetarians, alongside a selection of Asian-inspired cocktails and fine wines. The venue also features private dining spaces, making it an ideal spot for intimate gatherings and special occasions.
