[Aomori] Tsuru no Mai Bridge
Aomori Prefecture. I went to Tsuru no Mai Bridge!
Unfortunately, the weather was bad, but
if it had been really sunny,
it would have been a spectacular spot to see the mountains towering over the bridge 👀
You can even fly a drone here,
so I'd like to try again next time...🔥

In Hokkaido's Kushiro City, Japan's northernmost major sakura spot comes alive each mid-May when 300 hardy Chishima-zakura finally bloom—their deep pink petals framing red-crowned cranes in a "floral-and-feathered ballet" named one of "Hokkaido's Three Miracle Cherries" by NHK.
🌸 Essential Info

Aomori One-Day Sakura Adventure 🌸🚗 | Chasing Cherry Blossoms Across the North!
#cherryblossom25
Aomori’s cherry blossom spots are pretty spread out, so we booked a private car from Hirosaki and set off on an epic one-day sakura trip! 🎀🌸 Here's the route we covered — and wow, every stop was a different kind of magic! ✨
📍 First Stop: Iwakiyama Cherry Blossom Avenue 🌸⛰️
Known as the world’s longest cherry blossom road stretching over 20 km! 🌸🌸
Although only about 40% of the blossoms were out (since it’s at a higher elevation), the view was still breathtaking, especially with Mt. Iwaki covered in snow as the backdrop! ❄️🏔️🌸
📍 Second Stop: Fujimi Tsurunomai Bridge 🌸🌉
Full bloom magic! 🌸💖
We caught the perfect shot with the Tsurunomai Bridge, cherry blossoms, a serene lake, and snowcapped mountains all in one frame — absolutely stunning! 🏞️✨
📍 Third Stop: Ashino Park 🌸🚂
One of Aomori’s most famous sakura spots — and it didn’t disappoint! 🌸🌸
The cherry blossom tunnel with the cute little sakura train running underneath is iconic! 🚂🌸
(P.S. The train runs once every hour — so grab your spot early if you want that dreamy photo!) 📸
Inside the park, the deep pink Somei Yoshino blossoms mix beautifully with the pale pink weeping cherry trees, all spread out across lush green lawns — like stepping into a living painting. 🎨🌸🌿
📍 Bonus Spot: Takayama Inari Shrine ⛩️🌸
Along the way, we also visited the super photogenic Takayama Inari Shrine, which stretches dramatically across an entire hillside with its rows and rows of red torii gates! ⛩️❤️
The viewing platform above the torii path is the ultimate photo spot — don't miss it! 📸✨

In addition to selling souvenirs, the tourist facilities also offer coffee and light meals.
I was also impressed by the beauty of the trees reflected in the lake in front of the parking lot I found by chance✨

You can enjoy a variety of flowers, including double cherry blossoms, wisteria, colorful azaleas, and lilacs.
The giant playground equipment "Tsuru no Toride" appears to be modeled after the Tsuru no Mai Bridge.
There are a variety of slides of different sizes, and the kids had fun playing there.

Japan's longest triple drum bridge, featured in Yoshinaga Sayuri's commercial
Total length 300m, width 3m 3000 pieces of Aomori cypress were used. As I crossed the gentle arched bridge, I looked back and saw the majestic Mt. Iwaki. I couldn't see it because it looked like it was about to rain ☔️, but on a clear day, the bridge reflected in the lake, the lake colored by the sunset on Mt. Iwaki, and Tsuru-no-mai Bridge are a magnificent sight.

[Aomori/Kita-Tsugaru] Japan's longest triple drum bridge, "Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge"
Tsuru no Mai Bridge, a popular scenic spot in Tohoku, was completed on July 8, 1994 as the longest triple drum bridge in Japan, spanning Lake Fujimi in Tsugaru. It is currently being rebuilt and is not accessible to the public, but there will be a few periods of hiatus before it is completed, so it looks like you'll be able to go if you go during those times. The wood used for the bridge is from Aomori Prefecture. The bridge is made of hiba, 300m long and 3m wide, and is quite large. Above all, the design is beautiful❗
And if the weather is good, you can see Mt. Iwaki from here, and the view is said to be absolutely stunning😊
On the Fujimi Lake Park side, there is the Red-crowned Crane Nature Park, where you can see the red-crowned cranes for free👀
Please go and check it out🎵

The longest wooden triple drum bridge in Japan, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of its 300-meter-long length. It is said to be a power spot for love and matchmaking.
📝Travel record
While crossing the bridge, I enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Tsugaru Fujimi Lake. The origin of the bridge was written on top of the bridge, and it was a story about the strange fate of a woman in love. It made me feel very sad. I hope you will visit the site and learn more about it!

The scenery you can enjoy at Tsuru no Mai Bridge varies greatly depending on the season and natural conditions.
The Tsuru no Mai Bridge was completed in 1994 and is built on the Tsugaru Fujimi Lake. "Tsugaru Fujimi Lake" has been used as an irrigation pond since the Jianghu era. In the past, many cranes would fly here, and this was used as the inspiration for the place name. After a public vote for the name of the bridge, the name of this bridge was decided to be "Tsuru no Mai Bridge."

Tsuru no Mai Bridge
#AccommodationReview
Located in Aomori Prefecture, Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge is known as a railway bridge on the Tsugaru Line. This bridge was built to allow the Tsugaru Railway to cross the Tsugaru Strait and connect Aomori City with the Tsugaru Peninsula. Its name was given to the bridge because it evokes a beautiful landscape that looks like a flying crane.
Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge offers visitors the beauty of nature in every season along with its beautiful scenery. Especially in autumn, the surrounding trees change color and the leaves spread all over the place. At this time of year, you can enjoy a landscape that looks like a painting with the autumn leaves against the backdrop of the Tsugaru Strait.
Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge is an important part of the Tsugaru Line and is also known as one of the tourist attractions in Aomori Prefecture. Not only tourists and railway fans, but also local people visit this bridge and enjoy its beauty. You can also see the view of Aomori Bay and the Tsugaru Peninsula from the bridge, and feel the nature and history of the region.
Tsuru-no-Mai Bridge is loved by locals and tourists as a symbol of Aomori Prefecture. Its beautiful scenery and historical background make it a special place for many people.
Bridge with mountain view
This is called the Tsurunomai Bridge located in Tsuruta, Aomori prefecture. The bridge is a set of three wooden bridges connected together nicely, each arching gracefully over Tsugaru Fujimi Lake, one of the largest reservoirs in the region. You can also enjoy the view of Mount Iwamoto while crossing the bridge. It is more convenient to travel by car. I would suggest to not visit during summer as the river may look a tad dry 🤣
