We stayed in Terengganu for a night and arranged a car pickup to the pier by emailing the hotel in advance. On the island, we stayed at Laguna Hotel and were quite satisfied overall. The most recommended activity is the turtle snorkeling for 70 RM, which is totally worth it! They take you to two snorkeling spots and the duration is quite long, something you wouldn't even dream of in other places. Also, remember to lock the balcony door of your hotel room! We forgot to lock it when we went diving and came back to find that monkeys had raided our room, drinking our cola and eating our chips. But I have another personal favorite destination, which I don’t share often. 📍Lang Tengah Located in the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia, it’s often overshadowed by Pulau Redang/Perhentian in term of tourism. But exactly for this reason, it remains a paradise for many people who wanna enjoy wonderful beach life with minimal crowds. 💞Reasons to Recommend: 1) baby shark 🦈 swimming by your side while you’re sitting down right by the beach 2) amazing shades of blue and crystal clear water, which is not inferior to Maldives/Palawan etc 3) stoney/bouldery beaches 4) rocky cliffs 5) the whole islands is small, which means all the wonderful elements are easily accessible by walk 6) cheaper than most of other similar destinations 🕰️ Opening times: Feb-Oct (Nov-Jan closed due to monsoon)

How do we choose the best island in Malaysia? For me it comes down to three things. Beaches, landscape, and marine life. This island has a special spot in my heart as it ticks all the boxes for it to be called the best island. The West side of the island has powdery beach sands and beautiful corals, meanwhile the East side has huge cliffs and amazing dive spots. The landscape is so unique that some would compare it to a famous location in Bali. This island also is less crowded and gives you a sense of exclusivity. Marine life on this island is abundant from seeing Black tip reef sharks in the morning, to huge schools of Bumphead Parrotfish and also blue luminiferous planktons on certain seasons.
