Autumn is beautiful 🗺️
#autumnbeauty
I recently hiked through Vodopády Studeného Potoka in Slovakia during autumn, and it was absolutely magical! 🍂 The waterfall trail is located in the High Tatras, and as the leaves were turning golden and red, the scenery felt like something out of a fairy tale. There’s no entrance fee, just beautiful nature all around. The hike is moderately challenging but worth every step. You pass several stunning waterfalls along the way, each surrounded by vibrant fall colors and the sound of rushing water.
I spent a few hours on the trail, taking in the fresh mountain air and stopping at each viewpoint to admire the landscape. After the hike, I visited the nearby town of Starý Smokovec, where I grabbed a hot drink and warmed up. If you’re in Slovakia during the autumn season, this hike is an absolute must for nature lovers.

✨Zelene Pleso is a hidden gem of Tatras!✨
Guys… this place is unreal! 🏔💚 Zelene Pleso was one of the key spots I had on my hiking list in Slovakia that day, and wow… it did not disappoint!
The moment I summited Veľká Svištovka and started my descent into the valley, I instantly spotted that emerald-green lake beckoning to me. And let me tell you - the colour is EXACTLY the same in real life. No filters needed, it’s just mesmerising!
It instantly reminded me of Morskie Oko from the Polish side. Sure, Zelene Pleso is smaller, but it’s tucked into the mountain range just as beautifully (yet so differently in a way!) And if you wander a bit farther from the lake, you’ll stumble upon a meadow full of purple fireweed flowers🪻 (you might’ve seen them in my last post - thanks guys for helping me with the name 🥹💕)
Unfortunately, I didn’t stay too long though - by that point I was already 8 hours into my hike (!!) and still had to trek 2.5 more hours back to Tatranská Lomnica to catch my train 🚉 (yes, I did the entire loop on foot - what an adventure lol!)
But here’s the good news: you don’t have to do it the same reckless way haha…
Here are 3 routes to reach Zelene Pleso:
1️⃣ (What I did) From Tatranská Lomnica → Skalnaté pleso → Veľká Svištovka → Zelene pleso
🔹 Challenging, full-day hike (~8-10h round trip)
🔹 Scenic ridge + lakes, would def do it again
2️⃣ From Biela Voda (near Tatranská Kotlina)
🔹 About 3h up / 2.5h down (~13 km total)
🔹 Follows a valley path, did it partially on my way back - it’s loaded with different waterfalls, so pretty!
3️⃣ Cable car to Skalnaté Pleso + hike via Veľká Svištovka
🔹 Cut the uphill by taking the lift
🔹 Still 2.5–3h hike with gorgeous panoramic views
And although there were more people around the lake compared to other parts of my hike, it still felt way less crowded than Morskie Oko. Both Slovak and Polish Tatras will have a special place in my heart FOREVER❤️
If you ever get the chance, go to Zelene Pleso (and Tatras!!) This is what makes you stop and think: yep, this is why life’s worth living🌍✨

Tatra National Park, Zakopane
Tatra National Park is not just a hiking destination; it showcases the essence of Poland's natural beauty. I explored several trails with my friends, and among them, the Dolina Kościeliska Valley, with its stone paths, left a particularly strong impression on me. The trail, surrounded by lush forests and clear streams, provided a sense of tranquility throughout the walk. The small caves and traditional mountain huts we encountered along the way added to the joy of the journey. The paths are well-maintained, making it accessible even for beginners, and it's the perfect place to experience nature up close. If you're looking to escape daily life and truly rejuvenate, I highly recommend visiting Tatra National Park.

Tatra National Park, Zakopane
If you love nature, you can't miss Tatra National Park. I was particularly impressed by the hike up to Morskie Oko Lake. The lake is surrounded by massive mountain ranges, and the sight of the peaks reflecting like a mirror on the calm water was absolutely stunning. The trail is a bit long, but there were many families with children walking along, and there are plenty of rest areas along the way, making it not too strenuous. Enjoying warm soup and bread at a mountain hut while taking in the scenery became an unforgettable memory. If you want to spend a whole day immersed in nature, this is the perfect choice.

Tatra National Park boasts breathtaking mountain scenery, worthy of being called the Polish Alps. I departed from Zakopane and took the cable car to the summit of Kasprowy Wierch, where the panoramic view was truly breathtaking. The sky-high peaks and lush valleys blended together to create a breathtaking vista. Autumn is especially spectacular, with the contrast of crimson forests and snow-white mountains creating a breathtaking landscape. Hiking trails are diverse, catering to both beginners and experienced hikers, and wildflowers and mountain goats are abundant. If you're looking for a truly immersive journey, this is a must-visit. #SeptemberTravelSupport
