Today, I recommend Werribee Open Range Zoo in Australia, which is a 40-minute drive from downtown Melbourne, close to Geelong, and on the way to the Great Ocean Road. Both adults and children love it. 🏷️Zoo full name: Werribee Open Range Zoo 🏷️Park The ticket includes a sightseeing bus in the park, and you can see a large grassland with giraffes, camels, antelopes, ostriches, rhinos, etc. grazing when you take the bus in, pretending to be on the African savannah. I was most excited to see giraffes 🦒 and zebras 🦓 because they are the most photogenic and have a sense of being in a cartoon. The zoo is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and it is recommended to go in the morning, as many face-to-face activities with animals are in the morning, such as feeding giraffes at 11:00 am, and if you go too late, you may miss it. Daily keeper talks are on the agenda, and visitors can explore the zoo while attending these talks, which were educational and focused extensively on the zoo’s conservation initiatives. The zoo safari was a standout experience. Animal interactions are not guaranteed as the zoo prioritizes natural behavior and the freedom of animals to choose where they graze and socialize. Nevertheless, during our visit, we observed several animals right beside our bus. There are complimentary water stations scattered throughout the park, so remember to bring a reusable bottle for refills. The cafeteria offers a variety of standard fare, and a coffee kiosk is also available for quick caffeine fixes. The animals are quite dedicated, except for the leopards who prefer to observe from the shadows rather than participate actively.

The Werribee Open Range Zoo in Melbourne has recently welcomed an adorable baby rhino. This little one is a southern white rhino, a species that is endangered globally, and weighed a hefty 60 kilograms at birth. The baby rhino was born in the early hours of August 18th to its 11-year-old mother, Kipenzi, after a 16-month pregnancy. The father, Kifaru, is a 15-year-old 'veteran dad.' The birth is a significant event for the zoo, especially after previous challenges in breeding rhinos, including the unfortunate loss of a calf last year due to maternal bonding issues. However, this time, Kipenzi is showing exceptional care and affection for her newborn. The staff have noted that the baby is nursing well, which is crucial for its health and signifies a strong bond between mother and calf. Currently, the mother and baby are enjoying a quiet bonding time in a secluded area of the zoo, not yet open to the public, with staff closely monitoring their progress. The restaurant offers a wide range of choices, from fresh salads to exquisite hot dishes, the ingredients are fresh and the taste is very good. I particularly like their pizza and fries, the portions are generous. Paired with the fresh juice of the day, the whole dining experience was unexpectedly satisfying. The restaurant environment is also very comfortable. It is a good choice whether for rest or replenishing energy. #Furitabee Werribee Zoo is an easy place to get to from Melbourne, about an hour by train. The highlight here is the safari tour! As we rode the bus around the vast savanna, I was really excited when I saw giraffes, rhinos, and zebras right next to us. I was so excited to see the animals relaxing up close, camera in hand! It's a wonderful place where you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and feel like you're on a little adventure. Tickets can be purchased on the day without making a reservation. You do have to line up for the safari tour, but there are many schedules, so you don't have to wait too long even on weekends!

The zoo is very large and has many kinds of animals. You can spend most of the day there. The admission fee is cheap and it takes about an hour from the center of Melbourne. You can watch various wild animals up close. It is definitely worth a visit!

People who like zoos tend to go to the city center when they come to Melbourne. It's close, but if you only look at the zoo, there's a much better zoo near Melbourne. If you go to Werribee Zoo, which is 1 to 1.5 hours away from downtown Melbourne, you can take a safari tour that lasts about 40 minutes and walk around to see kangaroos up close.
