📍 Itinerary Overview We spent two days in Zhangjiajie and we dedicated one day to the National Park and one day to Tianmen Mountain. We have been there at the end of August and we found good weather, it was hot but walking through was anyway nice since most of part are covered by trees. Also we were worried about long queues but we didn't spend any one minute waiting! 🚩 Sightseeing Route #Day 1: Zhangjiajie National Park We have reached the South Gate from Zhangjiajie by taxi, it took 40 minutes and it costs 10-12€. We had the entrance time range of 9.00-10.00 am and we moved from Zhangjiajie at 8.00 am. Once we got into the park, we first made the Golden Whip Stream, a 7.5 km route trough a fantastic nature scenario and where you can find monkeys one the way! It was really nice and also children enjoyed a lot! After we took a bus and we have reached Bailong Elevator. This is also a fantastic experience because the view is wonderful and also it gives special vibes. Also is less scary than expected. Once reached the top of mountain we continued our tour at the top of the park, looking at the famous avatar mountains! The view is incredible and pictures in general can not catch the real feeling! We went all around the top and at the end took the cable car to go down. Then a couple of internal buses to reach the South Gate. Day 2: Tianmen Mountain The second day we went to Tianmen Mountain. We choosed the Route B that foreseen the express cable way up and the long cable way down. We made this choice because we wanted to reach the heaven gate doing the 999 steps. The overall experience was great, the route and the view are breathtaking. Rising the 999 steps it's a bit hard but it's doable, you can stop few times to rest a bit. Once at the top of mountain, you can choose the East or West route. Both routes foreseen a glass bridge. The West route is a bit more scaring, having long traits walking on the side of mountain giving sensation to be suspended on the empty space! 🏠 Accommodation XIADUO Hotel
