A Swiss Marvel!
Location: Zurich, northern Switzerland.
Getting there: The international airport flies to most major European cities. You can also get the train from Milan, Vienna or Stuttgart.
Switzerland is a wonderful choise for a holiday and Zurich is my favourite city there. There are excellent views of the alps from the city bridges, you can see the Swiss cathedral spires dominating the skyline. There are really nice tiny restaurants by the river you can enjoy.
Tip: Take the tram fifteen minutes away from the center to stay in a hotel there. It's a LOT cheaper than staying in the expensive centre.

Switzerland Travel | Walking in the Oil Painting-like Zurich
Backed by the Alps, Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. "Zurich" means "water town" in Celtic, and the Limmat River separates the old and new city areas, with the southern end of the city being Lake Zurich.
The crescent-shaped Lake Zurich, with one end deep into the center of Zurich and the other extending southeast. The leisurely white swans can be seen everywhere on the lake, walking along the lake as if walking in a painting, beautiful and healing.
The Zurich Cathedral, founded in 1100, is a landmark building in Zurich. The unique twin towers have long been a symbol of the city, blending various architectural styles such as Romanesque and Neo-Gothic. Almost all postcards of Zurich feature the silhouette of this cathedral.
The old town of Zurich is a must-visit place, with cobblestone streets lined with elegant and beautiful ancient buildings, permeated with a nostalgic and retro atmosphere. Here, you can truly experience the life of Zurich people, with various shops including bookstores, flower shops, fashion jewelry and antique shops, etc. The famous Bahnhofstrasse is here, as one of the world's most expensive shopping streets, offering top luxury brands, jewelry, private banks, and everything you could want.
This is not a big city, one day is enough to explore, but there are many places worth checking in. No need for any guide, you can walk around and enjoy the leisure of strolling.
Zurich is a melting pot of culture! ❤️
Zurich is well worth a visit for its fascinating museums, epic nightlife, extravagant shopping, and discovering different cuisines. However, you cannot yet view any breathtaking mountains and spectacular glaciers in Zurich. It’s the gorgeous churches, picturesque lake, and fantastic zoo you’ll find instead.
I honestly think you must give Zurich at least a day or two if you have plenty of time to spend traveling in Switzerland.

Zurich’s Old Town: The historic heart of the city beats on both sides of the Limmat river. Here guild houses, churches, historic squares, and hidden-away places nestle alongside each other. Cobbled and flagstone lanes lead you around landmarks such as the Grossmünster cathedral and Fraumünster church (see below), rows of towering 17th-century buildings with multi-coloured facades, and a stone bridge across the River Limmat.

Bahnhofstrasse Travel Recommendations for 2023 (Updated in Nov)
Zurich Bahnhofstrasse, Switzerland
Bahnhofstrasse is Zürich's main downtown street and one of the world's most expensive and exclusive shopping avenues. In 2011, a study named the Bahnhofstrasse the most expensive street for retail property in Europe, and the third most expensive worldwide. In 2016, the street ranked ninth. It came into existence when the city fortifications were demolished in 1864 and the ditch in front of the walls was filled in. Until that time, the name of the location had been Fröschengraben ("Ditch Of The Frogs"), which then was changed to Bahnhofstrasse ("Railway Station Street").
Bahnhofstrasse
Shopping becomes more interesting if you have a lake on the side for fresh breeze and amazing view. Bahnhofstrasse is a spectacular shopping mall, which connects Lake Zurich with the Main Railway Station. The mall encompasses all sorts of boutiques, department stores and timepiece stores and is always worth a visit. Also, you can enjoy some wine while roaming around the lake and having a nice time. So, get on your shoes and get going!! Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike! 😊

you must go to the Swiss Alps. It is the eternal Holy Grail in the hearts of everyone who has been there.
Switzerland 🇨🇭 is not actually the first choice for most Chinese tourists visiting Europe, but it is definitely the eternal holy grail in the hearts of everyone who has been there, a place that they secretly long to revisit two, three, four, or even five times.

The main shopping street of Zürich. It's great to walk down the street and check out all the shops. Shops near Zurich Hauptbahnhof are more affordably priced, and as you get closer to the lake, then you'll find the pricier stores. You can spend half of day walking on this street full of different kinds of shops.

Grossmünster
This is an iconic twin-towered Romanesque cathedral, where 1500s religious reformer Huldrych Zwingli preached. Huldrych Zwingli is known for leading the Swiss reformed movement in Switzerland. The cathedral is very imposing and can be seen from all sides of the river Limmat. It’s also very close to the old city centre.
Niederdorfstrasse
Niederdorfstrasse is the main street that runs through Zurich’s Niederdorf district. It lies on the east bank of the Limmat. It leads into the old city centre squares starting from the statue of the Swiss Soldier. It’s a good opportunity to buy souvenirs or that all important fridge magnet!

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Located on the banks of the Limmat River, the Zurich Cathedral, built around 1100, is a typical Roman architectural style, and its twin towers are considered a landmark in Zurich. The interior of the church is sacred and solemn, and the believers are constant. Even if you don't believe in religion, you can feel the peace of mind when you sit here for a while. The towers of the church can take you all the way up. Tickets are 5 Swiss francs, only cash. After climbing through the narrow and steep spiral staircase, you can overlook the panoramic view of Zurich and enjoy the view of the rolling snow-capped mountains.
