This shop is very close to home. As a Wuxi native, I have eaten a lot of wontons and xiaolongbao since I was a child. In addition to the old brand Wang Xingji, I have tasted many shops like Chao Wangji, Xishengyuan, Hexingji, Guxianglou, Xidingji, Suxingji, Dingfuji, etc. Xiaolaixi on Hubin Street seems to be the earliest one. I have been here several times. It is diagonally opposite Xialianfuji and very close to the Chinese Medicine Hospital. The environment in the shop is simple and elegant, and the place is clean and spacious. The waiter is very enthusiastic and the food is served very quickly. He only sells wontons and xiaolongbao. Wontons have three fresh, mushrooms, shepherd's purse, and vegetable meat. Xiaolongbao only has fresh meat xiaolongbao; there are few varieties, but the taste is very good. Xiaolongbao is especially suitable for the taste of Wuxi people, with thin skin, juicy meat, firm meat, and slightly sweet. But it is a pity that I can only eat one or two of Xiaolongbao now, even though I used to be able to eat a basket of Xiaolongbao. The Xiaolongbao gift box packaging in the store is also very beautiful, red and full of joy, and is a good gift.

A friend who lives in Wuxi recommended this dim sum restaurant that specializes in xiaolongbao and wontons to me. He said that it tastes better than Wang Xingji's food, so I drove over to try it in the afternoon when I went to Wuxi to do something. How does it taste? The crab roe soup dumplings are a bit sweet, but adding a little vinegar to the filling to increase the saltiness is just right, highlighting the sweet and fresh taste of the crab. There is quite a lot of crab roe in the filling.

When I came to Wuxi before, I was amazed by the mixed wontons of Xiaolaixi. Maybe it was because of our recommendation that my friend came to this restaurant to eat wontons after eating many bowls of wontons. I couldn't eat anymore and could only sit opposite and watch him eat... Red soup spicy wontons. I had mixed wontons before, but my friend chose the soup one here, but I think the mixed wontons here are better than the soup ones. My friend was also very satisfied with the soup wontons. The restaurant was almost full at 6 o'clock in the evening, and the business was good.

I stumbled into this restaurant by accident. I took a closer look and found that it is a time-honored brand. There was no seat after queuing. I had to stand next to other people's tables and wait until they finished eating before I could sit down. Xiaolong soup dumplings are a local specialty. They are very juicy and a bit sweet. I tried several varieties of wontons, which were not as good as the soup dumplings. Later I checked and found that there are many branches. I will try them again next time I go to Wuxi.

Wuxi's time-honored chain store, Wuxi Xiaolongbao and Kaiyang wontons are especially recommended. Xiaolongbao is large in size, and has the traditional sweet taste of Wuxi, and is delicious. Kaiyang wontons are topped with tofu skin shreds, which tastes more bean-flavored than the more common egg shreds.
