Popped in late Friday after a long day. The atmosphere was just right for unwinding. What really stood out was the Guinness – poured perfectly, and the price was a nice surprise. A very comfortable spot to end the week.

Been coming here for years. The pizza's always solid - good crust, not too greasy. The place itself is cosy, feels like a proper local spot. Staff are friendly without being over the top.

Sue was so nice and patient with our group, even when we couldn't decide what to order! Made the whole vibe really welcoming.

Not our first time here, today Celebrated husbands birthday, 8 adults & 2 children under 3, service was good, food always good and good value for money.

Love the vibe here, proper old-school pub feel. The pints are surprisingly affordable, which is a nice change from some places. Just what you need for a chilled evening out.

Been coming here for years when I'm in the area. It's a proper pub, always has a good few local ales on tap. The staff are genuinely friendly, makes you feel welcome. Haven't tried the food yet, but the plates coming out of the kitchen always look spot on.

The carvery here is a proper steal. For under a tenner, you get a huge plate. The beef was tender, the roasties were crispy, and the gravy was rich. Can't argue with that.

The fish and chips here are the real deal. The batter is light and crisp, the chips are proper thick-cut and fluffy inside. It's exactly what you want from a pub meal.

Been coming here for years now. The food's always hot when it lands on the table. That's the main thing for me, honestly. You know what you're getting.

Alex had some great suggestions, like adding a scoop of their coffee ice cream to the tiramisu. Really worked well. Anabel's coffee was properly hot too, which is always a plus. Good spot.

The staff were so friendly and professional. Even with a big group, service was attentive and efficient. They handled a small hiccup with my order so gracefully, made the whole evening feel very relaxed.

The queue at lunchtime is no joke, but the staff handle it brilliantly. They were so calm and friendly even with the rush, which made the wait feel much less stressful. Got seated quicker than I expected.

The coffee's great, but the gluten-free section is tiny. Just a couple of marked items on the menu. Wish there was more choice for that price point. The menu board changes sometimes too, which doesn't help.

The jazz music and cozy vibe are just right. The cookie doughs are good, especially the Dubai chocolate.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated how they took the time to explain the different beers on tap. The selection is quite good, and the prices felt very fair. A nice, relaxed spot for a casual drink.

Been coming here for years. The all-day breakfast still hits the spot, really fills you up. Drinks are cheap too, which is a plus. It's just a solid, no-fuss meal.

A real experience! Indian good but not as you know it. Very creative and imaginative. The wine pairings were fabulous- potato and champagne, anyone?

I had a delightful birthday brunch here! The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a bottomless brunch with a fantastic view, making it a memorable celebration.

The food at The Old Contemptibles is consistently excellent, especially the traditional pub grub. The service is always friendly, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

It's a lovely spot for a special meal or celebration, offering a splendid overall experience, though it's not the most budget-friendly option.

very good food and good place to hang out with friends
