We saw this place and booked before we arrived in Carcassonne.  The food was all home cooked to perfection.  The waitress was helpful and friendly and atmosphere wonderful. I had steak and my husband pork.  The food was simple, very reasonably priced and ice cream pudding delicious.We would highly recommend La Taverne Modern.

Good family option with pasta options and also entrec&ocirc;te and similar options for the parents. Very friendly service also from the staff and we have a very enjoyable meal

Great place really good atmosphere, 2 wrong orders but they put them right so fair play, but highly recommended

The duck was perfect. The house wine was great. A charming restaurant at the base of the Medieval city.

I liked the food. Even tough I only had a salad. But this one was plentiful and good. The restaurant was very careful with the Covid 19 seating and I liked the atmosphere

The setting is superb, as is the food which was both generous and of a high quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We were a group of 9 people with 5 children and they&rsquo;ve organized a beautiful table with some privacy that helped a lot not being stressed with bothering anyone else. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, small little touches that made it an exquisite experience.

Wonderful food (exceeded our expectations!), perfect setting. Would love to come back next time we are in Carcassonne.

Great food if somewhat confusing service. We think they did not put our order through as the tables around us, who ordered after us, were served well before us! However, once we were served it was all delicious and worth the wait. The cassoulet was very good indeed as was the bouquet of vegetables entr&eacute;e with tapenade. Alas, we had no room for a dessert which looked very tempting on adjacent tables, especially the Valrhona chocolate finger. An apology for the very delayed service would have been nice but we didn&rsquo;t complain as the waiter and waitress were very pleasant.
