Been coming here for years. Their afternoon tea is a nice twist on the usual. The savoury bits are always spot on, and you definitely won't leave hungry.

The scones were warm and crumbly, and the tea was just right. Good value for a quick stop. Had a small mix-up with the order, but they fixed it straight away.

The ginger fizz cocktail here was a standout. Really enjoyed the balance of spice and citrus, one of the better versions I've had. The rest of their signature list looks promising too.

The jacket potato was huge, definitely a meal on its own. Loads of cheese and coleslaw, and the salad with vinaigrette was really good. For the price, you get a lot. No complaints about the portion size here.

Lovely light space, stays calm even when a crowd. The creamy chicken and mushroom dish was spot on - rich but not heavy, and the roasted veg still had a bit of bite. Just what I needed for a quiet lunch.

Been here a few times, it's always packed. Staff are nice enough, but you do wait a bit for your food when it's heaving. Not a deal-breaker, just how it is.

Stopped in for lunch on a rainy walk. The welcome was genuinely warm, even with a soggy dog in tow. My lamb hotpot was spot on—rich, tender, and just what you need on a damp day. A really nice vibe in here.

The bread course was a standout. So much flavour in something so simple.

Decent spot for a bite in Windermere. The calzone was huge, honestly could have shared one between two of us. Coffee was fine. Good for watching the world go by.

Popped in for the early dinner. The monkfish was lovely, and they were really nice about letting us order it from that menu. Tables are a bit close together, but the staff were so friendly it didn't matter much.

The beer garden is a real sun-trap. Had the smaller portion of fish and chips there last weekend, perfect for a lazy afternoon. Decent pint to go with it.

The sticky toffee pudding is the real deal here. Came out warm, sauce was rich and not too sweet. Perfect quick treat after a main.

Been coming here for years for their Sunday roast. The beef is always cooked just right, not too dry. It's the one thing I know I can count on every time.

The manager was so nice! He took time to explain the menu to our group, which was great because we could all decide quickly. The whole team was really on it - our food came out fast and they checked on us just enough. Made for a really easy, relaxed catch-up with friends.

Parking was a breeze, which is always a plus. The food arrived promptly and piping hot. My only note is that the wine list felt a bit limited for the menu—a more thoughtful pairing selection would really complement those hearty dishes.

Been coming here for years. The pizza is always fresh, and I appreciate that they use quality ingredients. You can really taste the difference in the tomato sauce. A solid choice when you want something simple and good.

The small plates menu is a real winner after their recent tweaks. The grilled octopus was spot on, and the burrata with heirloom tomatoes was super fresh. Perfect for sharing with a couple of friends.

The staff were so kind to fit us in for a birthday without a reservation. They even brought out our cake, which was a lovely touch.

Really good value for money! The seafood was super fresh and the venison was cooked just right. Great spot for a catch-up with friends, we all left happy and full.

The carne asada tacos here are the real deal. Properly charred, juicy steak, fresh corn tortillas. The salsa verde has a nice kick, not just heat but flavour. Just what you want on a chilly night.

The staff were so friendly, really made you feel welcome. Food was lovely, but honestly the portions were a bit on the small side for the price. Still enjoyed it though.

Been coming here for years. Jasmine’s always so friendly, remembers my usual order. Makes you feel like a regular even if you’ve only been in a few times. That consistency is what keeps me coming back.

Nice little spot tucked away at the back of the inn. The room is quiet, good for a proper sit-down meal. Felt like a bit of a treat, just what you want sometimes.

Chicken Pad Thai was spot on. Properly tangy and not too sweet. Good portion too. That's all I really need from a Thai place in Ambleside.

Had a small mishap on the nearby trail and popped in. The staff were really decent, helped sort things out. The coffee and a slice of their homemade cake hit the spot afterwards. Good people.

Great location in Pooley Bridge, easy to get to from the main road. The on-site parking is a major plus, saved us a lot of hassle. Makes it a practical choice for a straightforward meal.

I was curious about their Christmas menu and the haggis pakora was a real surprise. It was perfectly spiced and crispy. Love that they switch things up with the seasons.
