Governor's Square was built in the 17th century. In 1866, a statue of Governor Jerachic riding a horse was erected in the center of the square. After World War II, the Square was renamed Republic Square, and the statue of Governor Jerachic was replaced by the statue of guerrillas. After Croatian independence in 1991, the statue of Governor Jerachic was moved back from the museum and the square was restored. Plaza is located in the center of the city, people come and go, the surrounding buildings are also very distinctive.
