"Taking a day tour to Shirakawa-go was easily the highlight of our trip. We went in February, and the village looked like a literal snow globe. The gassho-zukuri farmhouses are even more impressive in person. Our tour guide is very kind and approachable and also shared stories. Pro tip: Don’t skip the view from the top is the 'postcard' shot everyone wants.💕★

I recently went to Nagoya alone, and while I didn't really need this, it's cheaper than buying a regular ticket.
Just scan the QR code on the app voucher and enter. It's super easy!
I took the MuSky and reserved a separate seat for that train. (I made the reservation while waiting in line at immigration after getting off the plane.)★

The overall itinerary was somewhat rushed due to Japanese driver service time regulations. The Takayama leg of the trip was particularly tight, mainly because completing a meal and a full visit to the Takayama Jinya (traditional Japanese houses) within two hours was quite strenuous. Two hours was more than enough for the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village. The tour guide was very professional and nice, and his explanations were quite interesting. The group members came from all over the world, with mainland Chinese tourists making up about 10%, making it a very international team.Trip.com picks
