Antwerp’s main square is a city square in the heart of the old town. In the middle of the square is an old city hall, surrounded by many exquisite 16th century business association promenade halls, many restaurants and cafes. The main square is located within walking distance of the Scheldt River and hosts a Christmas market and ice rink in winter.
🌟One of the iconic attractions of Antwerp, but the time may not be right. Swing over for a meal at night. 🌟The buildings here are quite distinctive, each with its own characteristics. The first floor of these buildings is almost full of restaurants and bars, and many people sit drinking, eating and chatting. There are also memorial shops. 🌟In the center of the square there is the Brabo Fountain and the City Hall, which are both iconic attractions
All the major institutions that manipulate the pulsation of the city gather here.
The city symbol of Antwerp, a must-see for tourists.
Since I had plenty of time, I walked directly to the main square after getting off the train, which took more than 20 minutes. The square is large with a fountain in the middle. It is surrounded by traditional European houses, especially the Town Hall behind the fountain. It is a pity that some works are in progress and the original appearance is not visible.
