[Lazikou Battle Site] is located in Lazi Township, northeast of Diebu County, Gansu Province, 105 kilometers from Diebu County in the west and 72 kilometers from Jixian County in the north. Lazikou is the only passageway northwest of Sichuan into Gansu, and it is known as the ancient "throat" of Ganchuan. On September 15, 1935, the Party Central Committee and Chairman Mao led the Red Army 1st, Third Army Corps and Military Commission columns to leave the Russian border (Gaoji Village, Diebu County), and march along the eastern bank of Bailongjiang to Lazikou. The second division of the first legion was the advance group, and the new fourteenth division of the Kuomintang, Lu Dachang Department, fought a deadly battle. Finally, at about 3 a.m. on the 17th, victory broke the Tianxian Lazikou, which was held by the enemy's heavy soldiers, and opened the passage to the north of the Central Red Army to enter Ganshan. The inscription of the "Lazikou Battle Monument" was written by General Yang Chengwu. General Yang Chengwu was the political committee of the Second Division of the Red 1st Army and the Fourth Regiment, and participated in and directed the battle of Lazikou. In December 2016, the Battle Site of Lazikou was listed on the list of classic red tourism scenic spots in the country.
